I'm a thirty-something female who became addicted to Supernatural in January of 2011. Even though I'm a newbie, I've seen all the episodes from Seasons 1-5 on TNT at least twice, so I know the whole canon. I used to be a staunch Dean girl, but I don't know what happened. Sam kind of grew on me, and now I'm so totally a Sam girl. I tend to like underdogs, and Sam seems to get the short end of the stick a lot. I mean, my goodness. It's not Sam's fault Azazel put demon blood in him, but everyone acts like he's evil because of that. I mean, hello, Castiel. It was Sam that used to pray regularly and believed in God--not Dean! Yet Dean is always everybody's favorite--Bobby's and Castiel's, I mean. Plus (sigh), Sam has that gorgeous hair and those soulful eyes. (Not that Dean's not totally effing hot, too.)
I have just recently finished my first fan fic for this site, Music to My Tears, and I hope that people will be able to find it and read it. If you're good at editing and proofing and want to volunteer to beta, I'm in the market for one. I have some ideas for some other stories and would appreciate another pair of eyes to look over my stuff.
I should probably say a little about my story preferences. Of course, I love the stories that have the brothers interacting with each other and helping each other, but I'm ready for a break from the boys always comforting each other. Where are the women? Not saying I want the boys to go their separate ways, but why can't they be brothers and still find love with a cool girl?
That is the only beef I have with the show--they kill off all the cool women like Ellen, the first Ruby, Bela, Ava, Pamela...the list goes on. I especially loved the chemistry between Dean and Bela early on and between First Ruby and both boys, and I wished those relationships had been explored further. I've read that fan comments were negative toward some of these girls and that's why they were killed off, and I personally don't understand it. I read a suggestion from someone on a comment page that they should have Sam and Dean become involved with a coven of witches, and I think that would be a very cool idea. Hello, Season 7? How about trying something new? I mean, I love all seasons of the show, but haven't they been there and done that with the whole Heaven/Hell/Purgatory/Apocalypse-pending/Dean dying/Sam dying thing? Anyway, I'll step off my soapbox now.
Also, in case any of the show's writers ever happen upon my little profile here, I just want you to know that I thought Season 6 was great. I loved Soulless Sam, thought he was totally hot and badass, (although, of course, I'm glad he eventually got his soul back), and I thought the last few episodes were brilliant the way they tied the whole season together and Cas went rogue. I know this wasn't a popular season, but I thought it was excellent. Now, as I said earlier, try something totally new for Season 7, and don't get rid of Misha Collins!
In closing, I'd like to say that there are some truly talented, amazing authors on this site. Thanks to all of them, and keep up the good work. Of course, my book club doesn't thank you. I haven't finished a book in months because I don't want to read anything but fan fic!
