Just thought I would leave some details about myself.
I'm 18 years old and a massive Harry Potter fan. I never really liked fanfiction until a friend of mine put me onto one and I loved it. Since then it has grown to a sort of obsession which has lead to this. Though I can't really say it's a bad thing. Reading, and writing, fanfiction has really helped keep my sanity through my last year of schooling.
Personally, I think the Harry Potter series itself is great, but not without it's faults. I have read that some people didn't like the Deathly Hallows, but I can't see why not. I guess some people just really wanted it to end a certain way. I didn't. I just wanted it to end the way J.K. Rowling wanted it to. Though one problem I had with it was that Ron and Hermione ended up together. How? That really eludes me. I can't see those two working in a long term relationship. Ginny and Harry I can, and I can see how hard Rowling worked towards getting those two together, though she did drop the ball during the third and fourth books in that respect.
Luna Lovegood is very much one of my favourite characters, if not my very favourite. There is just something about her that appeals to me. She's so out there and eccentric. I guess I just think that's awesome. Bellatrix Lestrange is another character I like, although I think I like the movie portrayal of her more than the books.
Out of all of the characters I think that Dumbledore has the most interesting story. His own lust for power, and I guess Grindelwald's too, lead to his own sister's death and the ultimate downfall of his best friend at his own hand. Personally I think Dumbledore's story is one that could be explored a lot more. If Rowling was going to write another book I wouldn't mind a story focused around Dumbledore. Either that or one focused around Tom Riddle's time at Hogwarts. Also there are the general hopings for a Marauders book or a Next Gen book.
I am currently working on what I hope to be a seven story series encompassing the entire seven years at Hogwarts but having different events. There will be similarities to the canon books, like the Chamber of Secrets being opened (But by who? And who will be petrified?) and Voldemort being resurrected (but how?) but generally the story will be largely different to canon. The deaths, friendships, enemies, relationships and even in some cases personalities will be different to canon. Whatever I write which is different to canon is meant to be that way, unless I make a mistake, which I probably will at some stage. I'm not infallible.
I don't want to write too much about my series because it is only just beginning but I will say that I have a LOT of ideas floating in my brain which I will try my hardest to use. I pretty much already know who is going to die and how. I also know what the ending will be. But telling you will spoil the fun won't it? Hehe.
'Book 1': Harry Potter and the Unfortunate Son is complete as of 11-14-11
'Book 2': Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin has now begun.
Another fic I'm writing is Harry Potter Canon: An Analysis. I will only be updating that particular one every so often. Basically, I bring up a point and I analyse it in terms of how I think it fits in canon. For example, my first one was an analysis of the Albus Dumbledore/Harry Potter relationship in which I tried to show that Albus Dumbledore was doing the right thing by Harry the majority of the time. My chapters so far are:
1. Dumbledore's Decisions: Harry
If you would like me to write a chapter on something in canon, let me know and I will do it eventually. I have plans to write a few but I don't know when.
Just so you all know, I DESPISE slash and will not use it in any of my stories. Someone has pointed out that this sounds homophobic. I want to point out that I am not homophobic, I just don't think having slash pairings like SS/HP or DM/HP or SB/RL is necessary and I don't read many stories that have them in it. I don't so much mind homosexuality in stories, just mainly explicit scenes involving it. The problem is that the majority of fanfics that involve homosexuality also involve explicit scenes as well, which puts me off the story which is why I don't read them and why I state that I don't like slash fics. I also will not write explicit sex scenes in any of my stories so don't expect those either. Sorry, but I can't stand either at all.
I would also like to say now that I have another profile which I started with someone else that I know fully run. The Pen Name is 'Koldrian'. On it I have two other stories that I am currently writing. This brings my total up to four stories currently being written.
