Author has written 6 stories for Glee.
Hello world! Finally decided to add some info to my profile.
My name is Alexandra, I'm 26 and I live in Belarus, a tiny lameass country in the butt... I mean, the heart of Europe, currently in a state of a really bad economical crisis. Isn't that a fun place to live in.
I graduated from a linguistic university, where I majored in English. I am not a native speaker, so I'm always concerned about my English level.
I used to read quite a lot of fanfiction (in both Russian and English) and write some (in Russian) in my teens, but then "overate" at some point and got sick of it. Sounds harsh, but that's the truth.
I used to be a big Glee fan. Among many other things, but Glee was the first reason I started reading fanfiction again, and then writing again. I was a devoted shipper of Glee's Kurt and Blaine, those boys had made me very happy. Until the writers decided that enough's enough, and broke it all. The bastards.
Then, the Avengers came into my life. After Glee, it was like getting out of a kiddy pool and jumping into a crazy river. My mind was blown, and still is being blown on a regular basis. Sleepless nights of going through chapter after chapter of amazing Stony pre-slash.
Because yeah. I am a sucker for the "opposites attract" rule, so for me, Steve and Tony are perfection. It's been a rather obsessive four months, and I can't seem to tire of their bickering, and arguing, and bonding, and being friends, and falling in love.
Unfortunately (for me, doubtfully so for anybody else), I seem to have read too much too great Stony fanficton, my standards are so high that I can't write any of my own. I barely get through a page or two before I scrap it. I myself am sort of curious about whether I will manage to kick myself out of this absurd "I'm not good enough" fixation. Time will tell.))
I have two very strict rules when it comes to fanfiction, and I wish more people shared them:
1) No perversions. Teen sex, rape, violence, physical and emotional abuse, etc. These things are bad. It's very simple: people write and read kinky stuff about things that they personally are attracted to. Suppressed dark desires, all that. Being sexually excited by bad things is wrong and should not be relished - it should be treated medically.
2) No real person fanfiction. I am strongly against RPF, because I believe that it's completely disrespectful; unlike fictional characters, the actors, musicians and others are people with real lives and feelings. I could go on about the reasons for a good hour. People who call themselves fans and love their idols should value and respect them and their life choices, not manically project erotic fantasies on them.
Do I report RPF? You bet I do. Why? Read above. This website prohibits RPF and I support that.
