Hi, I'm a crazy writer that decided to enter this place and write stories about a badass Naruto, since Kishimoto has killed all coherence in the story. It used to be about a kid trying to be someone, a kid whose life turned out to be a really bad one. Then it turns out that the kid is some chosen one of legend, and all the hard work is shoved aside for power-ups that make all former progress meaningless, especially with Sasuke who has more importance on the show than the titular character.
Unspoken Rules Of Being Badass:
Any breaking of these rules is grounds revoking of the status of being a badass. If this happens, a badass must once again prove they are worthy of being badass by following the rules. A badass can only be determined by the opinions of others.
(By The Swordslinger) Unspoken Rules Of True Men:
To break these rules means one isn't a man, but tries to pass as one. Real men are not muscular warriors who win every battle they are in, a real man is someone you look up to, someone who teaches you how to create a world worth living, someone who enjoys the simple joys in life while giving plenty of joys to others for the sake of a smile. A real man is someone we want to become, and choose to become.
CRITICISM COMMANDMENTS (By MrEnter on DeviantArt):
My likes: Strong and cute chicks (Because if a girl can kick my ass and looks like an angel then I'm in love), Rise Against (They ROCK!!!), good hearted people, those who give their best and never give up no matter what, awesome Naruto stories without excesive bashing, good love stories that bring tears down my eyes, guns, swords, martial arts, pizza, videogames.
My dislikes: Pretty much everyone and everything who doesn't take into account the one rule to be successful in life: like and dislike what you like, and don't harm anyone in any way with your likes and dislikes.
My favorite characters:
-Jonathan Joestar (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, the gentleman we all should learn from.)
-Joseph Joestar (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendencies, the trickster that we all aspire to be like.)
-Jean Pierre Polnareff (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, maybe it's the hairdo or his goofiness, but you'll be happy to have someone like him backing you up.)
-Josuke Higashitaka (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, having the kindest of powers and the temper of a nuke, he's an actually GREAT hero.)
-Itou Kaiji (Kaiji, the guy that makes you feel your heart ready to explode by seeing him gamble in truly dangerous scenarios. It's outstanding and downright inspiring to see how much the world throws all the crap it can at him only for Kaiji to stand up and do his best to save himself and his friends.)
-Plumeria (Pokémon Sun/Moon, current waifu... She loves dummies, has a heart beneath the scowl, and sorry, but those hips of hers have me hypnotized.)
-Guzma (Pokémon Sun/Moon, everything that comes out of this guy's mouth is amazingly outdated and stereotypical, and I love him for it.)
-Team Skull (Pokémon Sun/Moon, these guys made me enjoy a Pokémon game like I was a little kid again.)
-Steven Armstrong (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, after so much thought... I just love how stupidly awesome this guy was written. I have to put him here.)
-Midoriya Izuku (My Hero Academia, no real reason except that he tries hard to be a hero. He's simplistic but does have some qualities I like in characters.)
-Asui Tsuyu (My Hero Academia, she's so weird that she's incredibly cute... How the Hell does that work?)
-Clementine (The Walking Dead games, I... shouldn't really spoil a thing. She's the one person I care about the most in a dangerous world.)
-Solaire (Dark Souls, AKA Legend of Sunbro. When you're in a dark, gritty and overall depressingly grim game that makes you feel even more depressed than your average dose of life, how do you balance it up without bollocking it up? Simple, introduce the simplest yet deepest and most endearing nice guy you'll ever meet in such a world and have his dialogue bring cheer to you while making sure you care for him without being lazy about it. Solaire is someone you want to see smile as much as he makes you smile.)
-Toriel (Undertale, AKA Goat Mom's Tale. I have never, ever cried this much after meeting some NPC. Toriel is the one who shows us how cruel and loving the game really is by our two choices, to fight or to show mercy. This sweet, loving and motherly figure is what truly sets the game's tone. First we are shown a quirky and overly protective side from her, and then she puts on her badass socks asking us to prove her that we can take care of ourselves. All of that to show us that either we fight or we die, but she does so only to teach us of the harsh world we just arrived in while doing so with love, care and... It's just perfect and beautiful, blending gameplay and storytelling at the same time, I... Yes, I'm crying! This game is Feels the RPG.)
-Sans and Papyrus (Undertale, these two share a bond I never thought would be as subtle yet as fun and heartfelt as many should be. Sans is lazy, a prankster, and overall plays it cool with puns and jokes while Papyrus is flamboyant, always eager to do things right, and a complete dork. And yet interacting with them shows that Sans wants nothing but to see his brother happy even to the point of doing his best to cheer him up with the player character's help, or his worst if you decide to be true scum. As for Papyrus, he cares for his brother just like one would, has a massive ego, and he's hard to hate considering he's only got his brother as the closest to a friend he's got.)
-Asriel (Undertale, and you know I hate Flowey with a fucking passion. But if you put effort into saving everyone, to realize that mercy is another sign of strength, that letting go of anger can do much more for you and the world than holding on to it, then you can save this kid. Frankly, I would, without any questions. I'd face whatever the hatred that built in the would could throw at me just to make sure this kid can smile. No matter what, I'd befriend him to stop the real enemy of the game, the senseless cycle of hatred, despair and sorrow that has plagued everyone for far too long. And yes, I cried like you wouldn't believe when I saved and forgave him. "You still forgive me?" You don't even have to ask, kiddo. Of course I do.)
-Momonga/Ainz Ooal Gown (Overlord, this guy and his show are everything that fantasy anime and manga should learn from, and I say learn, not rip off. This odd cousin to Skeletor is a great villain protagonist. He isn't a dickhead about it or has fun slaughtering the innocent, and he doesn't openly throw away his humanity. He still has morals and honor, but isn't above showing true jackasses their place as painfully as possible and needed. And he's actually terrifyingly smart.)
-Steven Universe (Steven Universe, duh. In short: best kid character in existence. He's cheerful, obnoxious on very rare situations, and tries his best to help his heroes. This kid is basically the world's best sidekick to the Crystal Gems. Speaking of them...)
-The Crystal Gems (Steven Universe, again. Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl. Three aliens that take care of Steven, basically becoming three great mother figures to him. Ok, Amethyst is a bad role model but she tries to make Steven smile, Garnet may be cold but you can see a lot of heart, and Pearl is a perfectionist but you know she is more than ready to do everything for the kid.)
-Courage (Courage the Cowardly Dog. I was doing some nostalgia sailing and the more I watched of this little pink dog's adventures the more of a true hero I see in him. Even if he's terrified beyond belief and knows he's in danger, he'd risk everything for the sake of a total stranger just because he wants to help them.)
-Sol Badguy (Guilty Gear, for a guy who looks like a punk, is a walking reference to Queen, and has a big mouth, he's actually very likeable and shows a good heart beneath all his attitude. And he's also a very original fighter.)
-Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury, the original King of Fighters, the guy who created his own fighting style and broke the mold for fighting game heroes by being a carefree and cheerful man who loves a good fight but isn't a maniac about it. Heck, he's a real good guy, he even has an adoptive son, a kid who was the son of the man that murdered Terry's father. To let go of such a grudge for another, you're guaranteed to be one of my favorite characters.)
-Saitama (Onepunch Man, the guy is perhaps the oddest, craziest and yet most original character ever created for a parody of manga and comic heroes. And yet, in serious moments I can't help but admire him when he shows in his own way how much he cares for others, enough to put his image in danger and get the hatred of many people only so a guy who put it his all and almost died got the admiration he deserved.)
-Genos (Onepunch Man, Saitama's sidekick, apprentice, and perhaps the most badass cyborg out there. He's what you have when you give Asura, from Asura's Wrath, the cool and calm demeanor of a hardboiled hero. The guy is pretty damn brutal and yet the way he admires Saitama makes him endearing all the way. He also gets to be comical when around his mentor and best friend.)
-Arnold (Hey Arnold!, basically, the kid that taught me that it doesn't matter what happens in life, the best I can do is enjoy what I have and help those who need help. He may be a bit generic but when he tries to help someone and shows why he cares I can't help but love as I learn how to be a good person from this kid.)
-Kisaragi Gentarou (Kamen Rider Fourze, as cartoonish as he may be, this guy is freaking amazing, and someone you will know you can rely on. He's the son of all hot-blooded heroes, and yet his only main goal in life is to befriend people to see them smile. How nicer can this guy get?!)
-Eiji Hino (Kamen Rider OOO, one of the nicest guys in the universe. This vagrant just oozes with true and righteous self-sacrifice for the sake of protecting what he has in his reach and making sure he can enjoy tomorrow with a clean set of underwear.)
-Ryuuko Matoi (Kill LA Kill, she's badass, and when needed she'll throw away her shame to make sure she can help and protect whatever few friends she has. Doesn't hurt she's a nice treat for the eyes, and while the show goes for that, she loves to do awesome stuff, and if she's getting emo, well, she has the best comic relief character to cheer her up.)
-Satsuki Kiryuiin (Kill LA Kill, how do I say this? I love this girl! Seriously, she's hot but designed in a somewhat realistic way with some strange traits like the fuzzy brows, the stern looking face, and her cold exterior. She's just cool, and there's no other way I can describe her.)
-Mako Mankanshoku (Kill LA Kill, as I've said, best comic relief character to cheer Ryuuko up. Everything she does has me laughing, but maybe it's because I turn off my brain to enjoy the show. Well, it's anime, and she's actually good at what she does in the show to help Ryuuko or amuse the audience, or both.)
-Zatoichi (Movie, series, the novel, it doesn't matter where he comes from, he's a kind man who won't think twice about splitting evil in half while keeping a grin and kind words for those around him. You see this man and you know you can't hate him because he fights not for himself but for what he believes is right, even if that ends up hurting him.)
-Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku, he's so badass he needs only his fists to punch out male alpha tigers! He breathes manliness and his hardboiled awesomeness takes down all of his enemies... and his fists help in that, too. That and he's such a caring man he makes the best father figure for nine orphans. That's a role model right there!)
-Shun Akiyama (Yakuza, this guy embodies generosity and selflessness and he's got so much swag it's ridiculous not to see babes knocking at his door 24/7. Yet he doesn't care about anything BUT helping OTHERS. He's got so much money and all he cares about is to use it to help others achieve their dreams.)
-Taiga Saejima (Yakuza, people may say that killing becomes easier with time and more killing, this badass proved them wrong in more ways than one.)
-Masayoshi Tanimura (Yakuza, a corrupt cop who breaks the rule to make sure orphans can eat, helpless poor and starving people can keep a not-so-legal stay in a better place and he uses all of his dirty money to help those people... He may not obey the law but he does what it can't do to help others.)
-Naruto Uzumaki (On to the good points: He makes a WAY better father figure for Sarada than Sasuke, and he tries damn hard to be a good family man, even playing games while sparring with his kid. Sadly, Kishimoto's ruined the kid and his show. Sasuke doesn't deserve a friend like him. Naruto had SO MUCH potential to be a badass or achieve perfection by accepting Yami's words about how he needed to be real to how fucked the world was around him... Kishimoto just seems to want to make the poor kid an eternal punching bag... Fuck that, no wonder ANYONE can write better Naruto stories.)
-The Doctor (Doctor Who, Most selfless soul ever and a great snappy dresser too.)
-Sora (Kingdom Hearts, he embodies my childhood! And let's be honest, would you rather have him be like other Square Enix protagonists that brood all the way? When seeing his friend Riku about to brood, Sora simply made him laugh so his friend could forget about really bad memories, and succeeded in a goofy and endearing way.)
-Dante Sparda, the original (Devil May Cry, who else is that cool when talking smack to giant demons? You also have to give him props that while basically being a bishonen character he manages to be manly in the inner way: selfless, courageous, and ignores his own misery to make sure others keep on living.)
-Deadpool (Marvel comics, he IS crazy and may do bad stuff but he can be good... sometimes. What makes me love him as a character is that while selfish, he is fun and does give a damn when it counts.)
-Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece, If you ever refuse to be his nakama then you have no soul, you monster.)
-Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach, sadly his manga, like Naruto's, suffers from the writer trying to force his favorite character as cool by giving him power ups without reason or coherence to the point of meaninglessness. Yet Ichigo's willing to do what he can for his friends, risk everything he has to save them, and deal with crazy over powered nutjobs trying to kick his teeth in while clinging to whatever sanity's left.)
-Kenichi Shirahama (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, another manga character I like that, sadly, has his story go down a hill because of the mangaka's choices, and in his case the mangaka chose to focus more on boob shots than story-telling. On to the good, Kenichi started as a guy that wanted to be a hero to defend others, and while that was shoved away for the sake of making the first girl we see in the manga happy, he still tries his best.)
-Negi Springfield (Negima, for a little ten year old, this kid has gone through a lot of unfair fights just to make sure he can get something done. Sadly, he really should be focusing more on his life and the hot massive harem of older girls after his shota buttocks, but he still gets their hearts.)
-Vash The Stampede (Trigun, he's such a bleeding and sacrificing heart yet manages to keep a smile... He deserves a hug and be known as the most heroic hero with his resolve to protect even if it kills him.)
-Yu Narukami (Persona 4 the Animation, this kid manages to befriend everyone wholeheartedly and always thinks of others before himself despite facing enormous entities of darkness. How can I not like him? And his deadpan face and humor always gets some chuckles from me.)
-Asura (Asura's Wrath, BEST. DAD. IN. THE. UNIVERSE! No questions asked.)
-Iron Giant (Iron Giant, greatest giant robot ever, god damn it, he made me cry and he was voiced by Vin Diesel.)
-Makunoichi Ippo (Hajime no Ippo, this guy just oozes with kindness as he tries to find out what strength really means. Thanks to him countless people can try to be better.)
-Eikichi Onizuka (GTO/Great Teacher Onizuka, why couldn't I have him as my teacher? He'd have done anything to make sure I enjoyed school like fighting armies of thugs, throw himself of a building to catch suicidal kids, and even endure shots to make sure someone who isn't even his student is safe.)
-Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid series, as Josh Burner said in his Top Ten Manliest Characters list: he's dependable, courageous, looks like Chuck Norris, always ready to do whatever it takes for the good of the world including crawling through a freaking microwave... The list goes on and on.)
-Raiden (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, yes, I know people hate him from the second MGS game, but MGR is definitely his place and god damn is he good at it. He's courageous, determined, and shitting-bats levels of insane for a funny story in which you can just enjoy how over the top everything is while slicing apart giant robots.)
-Black/Blacker Baron (Madworld and Anarchy Reigns, you better recognize. He's friggin' hilarious and in Anarchy Reigns shows that he may be into money but that there's a heart made of gold like his teeth.)
-Etna (Disgaea, it might be her bratty attitude, mood swings or overall bossy demeanor, but that makes her such a hoot to watch, and she's not like all other tomboys who beat up any guy around them for just existing, this girl actually has morals and acts with a very entertaining personality unlike...others.)
-Kongou Akira (Kongou Banchou, this guy is what I want to see more of in heroes: someone who does everything he can to set things right, wants to do a good job while doing so, and just tries to care for others and puts a lot more effort into just being a good guy despite all the power he has. There are countless times in which he could whine and cry about how bad things got in his life but, surprisingly, he just sucks it up and keeps on being a really nice guy as he protects others, and even helps several people to be better.)
-Delsin Rowe - HERO mode only (inFAMOUS Second Son, sure, this guy starts rather unlikeable at first by being your stereotypical punk, but after choosing the hero route with him I can see him as more than a good hero. While the game's set a very simple to follow good and bad sides, Delsin keeps on a rather cheerful and determined attitude to stand up for his beliefs, has a strong sense of justice, and becomes rather likeable when trying to help others despite how much crap he has to deal with.)
-Nero (Devil May Cry 4, ok, you Dante fans can bash Nero all you want, but listen to this: he is reserved and all that, but not in an obnoxious way. He has plenty of style, has a cheerful if still serious personality that clashes perfectly with Dante's, and with all the shit he gets, his dark past, and countless problems he's forced into the guy still has time to crack jokes, smile, and have fun instead of brooding to shove his dark past into the player. Also, he's got a cute/sexy girlfriend that he makes sure to keep happy and has a steady relationship with her... How many heroes can claim that?)
-Raikou (Shin Getter Robo, muscular and quite well-stacked tomboy that fights and even selflessly gives her life to save her people no matter what? Yes, please! On my face! Alright, I probably scared any female brave enough to venture here, but she's honestly the character I liked the most in that anime. Hey, I have a thing for oddly beautiful women, and she has something that pushes all the right buttons on me.)
And all others deserving respect/love/good laughs.
-The Swordslinger's Top Ten Evil Villains of all media (May change with time):
10. Aku (Samurai Jack). Childhood memories of him terrorizing me were good enough, but to see him now as an adult making a broken man watch his empire burning because of a mistake he made in creating this demon is... wow... and to think a great guy voiced him.
9. Kun Lan (Killer 7). He's a demigod with the power to create, and uses that to make exploding monsters and controlling people into taking things out of control while enjoying a conspiracy between Japan against the US with a charming and sinister grin.
8. Dahlia Hawthorne (Ace Attorney). I don't really want to spoil much, but let's say her ways of using others to get what she wants goes beyond what you can imagine, and she's the reason many lives were miserable while trying to put Phoenix Wright in jail.
7. Judge Frollo (Hunchback of Notre Dame). You must have watched the movie, so you know that a man who proclaims to be just while lusting after an innocent woman is not something to my liking.
6. Dio Brando (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure). After seeing how deep his evil spreads in the Jojo-verse, this guy is like a nightmare, never really leaving your head even when you think all's said and done.
5. Light "Kira" Yagami (Death Note). As Snake says "There's no right part in murder, not ever. And we're not here to make a name for ourselves." and yet Light goes against all of that to become a god.
4. Ragyo Kiryuiin (Kill LA Kill). The way she takes pleasure from touching her daughter is... undesireable. A guilty pleasure to some, but it doesn't change the fact she's a monster who relishes too much in having control over others' lives and making said people miserable in order to get sexual release.
3. Nyarlathotep (Persona series). If Lovecraft wanted to show us something, is that he can make a monster so needlessly evil it makes the perfect antagonist for a game series in which said monster's actions affect the plot from start to end.
2. Griffith/Femton (Berserk). I could just punch this guy in the face, really I could, and it'd never be satisfying. The way and reasons he makes Guts suffer are beyond selfish and he's just unlikeable when he shows how much of a monster he can be when you take away what he keeps with himself out of selfish, childish whims.
1. You, the player, if you go on a Genocide run in Undertale. After watching someone play the genocide run I am more than happy to remain a true pacifist to the end of time. I can't bring myself to harm, disappoint or see the sad faces of the characters I ended up loving and caring for in the game. To do that, one would have to throw away their heart, and I cherish my soul too much, mind you.
This list is completely my own opinion, you are free to disagree and come up with your own.
My favorite animes and mangas are: Overlord, Naruto (Actually not so much with what Kishimoto's doing, but for the sake of knowing how it ends I'll keep on reading... Though I have myself some steel knuckles ready for when I find Masashi), Bleach, One Piece, Devil May Cry, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Soul Eater, and a hella lot more that would take years for me to write here.
My favorite cartoons: Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar: The Legend of Korra (if you get past how much they punch Korra in the gut), Courage the Cowardly Dog, Hey Arnold!, Star vs. The Forces of Evil (I'm surprised that it has a comedic male sidekick to a female lead that is very competent), Rick and Morty, the first seasons of The Simpsons, and others.
Favorite Naruto fanfics: Naruto is badass, he doesn NOT take shit from anybody, he has a good romance, when there aren't lots of bashing (I may hate Sasuke for being a prick AND write a LOT of hatred against some guys but I hate it when fics are more about hatred than a REAL plot. Now with Sakura, I can't even get worked up about her, I don't even care about her at this point, as in I can't even bring myself to hate her because of how badly Kishimoto has written everything), he has a harem (Hey, I'm a man and he deserves love), there's a Female Sasuke in love with him (I know you guys would have loved it if he had been a girl, because a kickass girl that denies love only to fall more for the guy is just my kind of romance), and thanks to some writers I'm now into Shy Naruto and Confident Hinata fics.
Also, very important to get me to like a fic with Naruto being on the dark side of things, do not make him yet another Sasuke by overpowering him or giving him the emotions of a rock to be "cool". Kishimoto wants to keep praising the Uchiha Mary-Sue, okay, but don't turn Naruto into one. Just make him likeable, with flaws and character as well as some heart. I learned this the hard way as I grew as a writer.
If you think Masashi Kishimoto is ruining Naruto and agree, copy this, put it in your profile, and add your name to the list. The Fifth Rider of Armageddon, Hiroshima Namikaze, Zaara the black, desuta, Reikson, D-reaper X-20, blackstardragon624, chinoodin, The Silver Blossom, RasenganFin, Raidentensho, Knives91, Kingkakashi, DarkSamuraiX1999, THE HEE-HO KING, Wirespeed91, Naruto 21, GraityTheWizard, GuyverZero, durwin, Hakkyou no Yami, VFSNAKE, Stormrunner56, Haru Kitsune, DragonMaster4381, Demon Wraith, SCoTTieTheeReSeaRCHeR, darkvizardking69, The Swordslinger.
-Uchiha Satsuki/FemSasu (A pic for any fic in which she may be in):
-Two-Fisted Kitsune genderbendings:
Kira and Mikumo: sadly, good pics still haven't been found.
And now, challenges!
The Saving Joke - Batman AU fic inspired by the comic The Killing Joke. Basically, what if the Joker and Batman had been at different sides from the beggining, what if Joker was a police detective who despite losing his family in a shoot-out after chasing the man known as Batman still tried to be a hero, what if instead of wanting chaos he wanted to save people from feeling that same despair and bring smiles to their faces? Incidentally, what if Batman was a man who only looked for the thrill of battle and to prove himself better than others through skill, strength and brains as one of the greatest criminal masterminds with no sense of humanity or remorse, even to the point of killing his parents as a kid to have their money and power?
Joker would be a great, charismatic hero who despite being insane like canon would look for the greater good, as in saying, "People say you only need a bad day to crack and become a monster... I say they never heard of a good joke."
Meanwhile, Batman would be the true disciple Ra's Al Ghul always wanted to rule the world via an iron fist.
Anyways, it's just the two of them changing places as the hero and the villain, though Harleen Quinzel, AKA Harley Quin can be a heroine and deeply in love with a man who despite losing everything tries his best to keep on smiling and be the greatest hero in existence. Hell, you can put in Robin as this Joker's sidekick or something, your choice, guys.
If anyone's interested, you MUST send me a PM for the details, also so I can know where to find it and read it. I'd like to be the BETA or at least help in some way with this story to whoever's brave and creative enough to take on this challenge.
Team MSNR - Your challenge is to make a crossover with RWBY and Naruto with three more franchises, having one character from each franchise be a member of Naruto's team. And here are the rules for this challenge:
1. You shall bring Naruto and another three characters of different franchises and put them together in the universe of RWBY as a team.
2. Naruto doesn't need to be the leader, and him and his teammates must get an equal treatment.
3. Please don't over power your characters. But character development is more than welcomed.
4. Pairings are optional.
5. Alternate their worlds to fit with RWBY's, so yes, make them AU's. And make sure to have fun.
6. Due to RWBY still having only one season by the time I will post this chapter, you are free to take the plot wherever you are. It's what I'll do here.
7. Last but not least, contact me via PM to tell me about your fic so I can have fun reading it.
