"Innocence ends with language; the ability to tell a story; the power to construct a lie. And with it begins the painstaking and regrettable task of having to remember fact from fiction: a losing endeavor in which one must guard for the rest of his days against that inevitable moment of inattention when at last he stands exposed, saddled with the heavy deficit of deceit, naked and ashamed in the light of the truth." - Jodie Hittle, Saco, Maine author
Good God, y'all!
I am having the BEST time putting my stories up on this website to share with such a nurturing, loving community. I may be worlds away from some of you here in Maine, but its amazing how the wonders of the written word can make me feel so close to so many of you! I love to write, write, write. I did it a ton when I was younger, but then college, husband, kids and career put it to the wayside. Now I am getting back on the horse, with the support of this awesome community!
A special shout-out to the E/O Challenge - thru this forum I have found some truly awesome friends and incredible writers. I have to say one of my proudest accomplishments is writing 74 drabbles in a row - never missing a week.
When I am not obsessing about the Winchester boys or suffering through hellatis, I manage a local knitting group (look for knitting references in my stories), garden, and hike and bike the mountains of Maine with darling husband and two daughters, whom I fondly refer to as my YED's (Yellow Eyed Daughters). I am VERY detail orientated (okay, I can say it, I am probably OCD!) so if you want me to read a story or two for you as a beta, let me know.
I will only write SPN fanfic. The show is so incredibly close to my heart that I can't imagine writing anything else. I have attended three cons - Boston, August 2011 - with the amazing Enkindu07 and OnyxMoonbeam - and NJ Con August 2012 and NJ Con May 2013. If you have the chance, sell what you have to in order to attend, as the experience is like none other! (Feel free to search youtube for "Fan vs. Jared and Misha"- its me, and its a friggin' riot!)
I attempted to get "The White Demon," a book I have written with the Winchester boys as the main characters, published by Titan (the supreme ruler of all books SPN-related) but they said 'no'. I tried again, and they said, 'no.' Apparently I'm not a good listener, so I sent it in again. But the definition of insanity applied, so they said, 'no.' So I'm reworking it to be an original fiction book.
I LOVE the Impala, and have a little community, "The Impala Collective." If you find any good stories that take place in the Impala or use this lovely vehicle as part of its central storyline, let me know and I will add it! Thanks!
Also, check out "A Very Supernatural Journey" - co-written with CFEditor, TheYmp, and Wnyefred, it stars our very own Enkidu07. Posted under CFEditor's page.
Since the Impala can't love me back, I would have to say that I am definitely a Sam girl - especially hurt/sad/romantic/unconscious/fainting Sam...*sigh*. I will read slash, but not write it. I love monsters and demons and big battles against them - thus, "The White Demon". Off to write and dream about Sam...(my husband will never read this, right?!)
Okay, that's me, and more than you probably wanted to know! But thank you for reading, and enjoy!
