How much does one trust a profile created by the person it is supposed to profile?
Usually, it tells you nothing of what they are actually like. All it tells you is what they want you to know. What they think will make them appealing to the populace. What will sell them best.
The only way to tell what a person's profile truly is, on a page maintained by them, would be to see how they market themselves, but even this can be intentionally and knowingly manipulated.
Looking at mine one may thing I am a cynic, overthink things and am completely missing the point of this profile. I would probably agree; whether or not my opinion of myself is one you can trust...is another matter entirely. That's what friends are for, go ask them.
Hi, I go by the pseud of Eisen where I can. I am a software developer by profession, a writer, artist and gamer by interest and a Christian by creed. Vocation...we're still working on trying to find out what that is.
The fandoms I primarily subscribe to are Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Warhammer, Skyrim, Star Wars, Warcraft and Halo, but I enjoy a far greater variety other creations as well, if not as actively.
I was influenced by my father to have an interest in military from my earliest childhood. My mother manipulated this to get me into the medieval scene as well. So my interest in modern military developed into an interest for sci-fi and my interest in historic warfare into fantasy. You will most likely see this reflected in my writing, as I try to maintain a sense of believability (if not realism) in how things function, be it societies, architecture, economies, or combat.
Despite the tone of all the above, I am actually a relatively happy person (If perhaps bordering on the lower side of that spectrum), with remarkably few - if any - 'issues' to speak of (I sometimes feel like I'm one of the few people who can say that and not call it a mask - yes I live a default, boring life. I am also a prideful, hypocritical git.)
But none of that matters. All that matters here is what I've written and what I've read and whether you like it. If not, begone! Shoo! I won't guilt anyone into reading my crap because they feel they need to or something.
