I'm a Tolkien fan, of the Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and Histories of Middle-earth order. The overwhelming majority of my stories are set in Arda. Like many of us, I adore the darker characters of The Silmarillion , my favorites being the Fēanorians (especially Maedhros and Curufin), Maeglin, and Sauron. They appear most frequently in my writings, though I also entertain a broad array of less doomed, damned, and/or dispossessed characters.
I've also written for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, on occasion. The main characters are fascinating, even if the plots of the movies (and 99% of the villains) make me cringe. I love Loki, Wanda Maximoff, and Steve Rogers the most.
On my stories in general.
You will notice that all of my most recent fics are categorized 'Angst/Drama.'
This is a thing that you will notice.
Anyway, I'm trying to overcome a dependence on stream-of-consciousness, and also gratuitous metaphor. Trying, that is. I'm also trying to get back in the habit of writing more often. These days I write fragments of all sizes. Someday my attention span shall return.
I'm also shamelessly addicted to quotes. To the tune of: I've gotten in the habit of beginning most stories and/or chapters with (at least) one. Some of these provide canon information upon which the story is based (see 'The scorpion doesn't burn'); some of these simply match the themes at hand (see 'Where the Worm Dies Not'); others shed light on the nature of the relationships/events depicted in the fic (see 'Postliminium'). I crave your indulgence : ]

I'm a Christian, which means I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross to save us from sin, and roose again to to bring us eternal life. His love is beautiful, powerful, and unconditional.
