Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
I am a 26 year old female living in the U.S. I am currently studying early childhood education. I speak Japanese fluently (although please note that fluency is not at all the same as being a native speaker of a language).
I like: the type of stories found on Potions and Snitches (Harry/Snape father/son, adoption, brothers, etc.) and I'm just getting into Hermione/Snape romances. My favorite characters are Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, and Neville Longbottom, and after seeing the Order of the Phoenix movie, Luna Lovegood is growing on me too. I prefer chaptered stories over one-shots. I am a strong believer that stories can be romantic without having any sexually explicit scenes.
I don't like: slash or smut, poor spelling and/or grammar, people who chew with their mouths open.
Story Notes for Inter Canem et Lupum
Disclaimer. I am not J.K. Rowling, nor am I in any way affiliated with her, or have her permission to write about Harry Potter. I am writing this story for my own enjoyment, and hopefully the enjoyment of others, but I am not writing this for monetary profit. This disclaimer applies to the story in its entirety, and will not be repeated in each individual chapter.
I was born and raised in the U.S., therefore, I write in American English. This means that the first floor of a building is the one at ground level, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear your pants in public, tea is a drink (not a meal), pudding is a specific kind of dessert that is very soft and sweet, and to revise means to rewrite or change something. I think it would be wonderful if I could write dialogue in British English, but I know that if I attempted it, it would only be half-accurate at best. And so rather than subject any British readers to my poorly written, fake-British English, I will write what I know. The one possible exception is that I might consider using the word jumper (meaning what we usually call a sweater in the U.S.). Just to be clear I’ll say right now that I won’t ever use the word jumper to refer to a one-piece outfit that a little girl might wear. Any measurements will be using the imperial system, which if you are unfamiliar with, it is very simple to find online converters.
Canon. I’ve spent a lot of time researching information for this story, trying to keep everything accurate to canon. I favor the books over the movies whenever they differ. I’ve never read any of the non-novel books (i.e. Quidditch Through The Ages, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, etc.) and I don’t keep up with all the J.K.R. quotes from chats and interviews, although I have checked out the information on her website (jkrowling.com), and I depend heavily upon the Harry Potter Lexicon (www.hp-lexicon.org). If anything I’ve written is in conflict with canon, please notify me, and if possible I’ll try to fix it. I’ve also had to make up a lot of information where canon lacked details, so please don’t assume every fact I write comes from canon (this especially applies to information about Side-Along Apparition, Remus’s history, and werewolves and the Wolfsbane Potion).
Mary-Sue. This story contains an original character, but she is not a Mary-Sue, in either of the two definitions of the term that I am familiar with. She is absolutely not based on me (her physical appearance is based on several of my students, and everything else is of my imagination), and she doesn’t have super-powers or anything (although there will be a point in the story where it may seem like she does, I assure you, she doesn’t). I am going to attempt to write the entire story without once writing from her point of view.
Updates/review responses. Updates will not have any regular schedule for the foreseeable future. I will respond to any questions you may have privately, although I warn you I think I may be the Worst Correspondent in the World. Leaving a review on this site will generate a much faster response than an email to me. Reviews will be greatly appreciated, especially any suggestions for improvement or notifications of any mistakes. Please let me know specifically what you liked or disliked about my story.
