Hello, the name is Saurowen. I have been on FanFiction.Net since 2002, and now I am back.

I love the Tolkien fandoms most of all. I have read and truly treasure the Lord of the Rings (books and movies, but books moreso), and am currently in the process of reading The Silmarillion and The Children of Hurin. I appreciate canon/book-verse fanfiction for the most part, yet also love when well-written OC's are involved. The reason why is I believe that Tolkien created such a vast, majestic world where many stories go untold or unfinished, thus the possibilities are almost limitless (almost, emphasized). In the same spirit that people write historical fiction, I feel similarly for the number of possibilities that can take place within his legendarium. I learn a little bit of something regarding Arda and anything Tolkien-related, at least more than once every day; this is what makes me appreciate a well-researched and thoroughly written story, and something that could possibly contribute to a story of my own in the near future.. hint.

A little about me:
I am a 20-year old naneth of a beautiful little boy living in a random suburb in Illinois. I have freakishly long black hair, am quite small, and work in a very confining prison called an office. I love adventure and yearn to visit New Zealand before I have to pass on to the Halls of Mandos myself. I spend too many days daydreaming and eating and bickering about politics and life in general. I feel that there is not enough time in my life to do what I want to do, which constantly haunts me; perhaps that is what further feeds my escapist tendencies.

Pet peeves regarding fanfiction: I have a difficult time enjoying a story with many continuity issues. It can be AU, bookverse, whatever, but it really kills the believability of a story. Also, bad grammar and spelling (when there are plenty of resources available out there to help with such issues), combined with immaturity on the narrator's part is no good. If you need a beta reader, I will be more than happy to do so for you. I want people's stories to be good; I don't want to flame anybody! I believe that no matter what genre/type of fanfic a person writes, it has the potential to be a great fanfic with just the right amount of planning and inspiration.

I have nothing against slash, AU, or even movie-verse stories. I even read these from time to time. However, I must admit mpreg and blatant mary-sueism (with an obvious lack of thought and purpose) really do bug me, although if I do end up reading one, you can rest assured I will provide a constructive review. No flames here... immature comments do not make any useful contributions to any author and only serve to hurt people's feelings and/or anger them.

Expect a story from me sometime soon. It will definitely be a Haldir fic... such an enigmatic character leaves so much room for speculation.
