Name:Right now, It's Embrace madness. TLE, MG, JY, and DBJ all stand for other things I've been called. And no, none of them have been a username.
Sex: not yet, and a bit young for that. I'm a guy, by the way
Age: 17 (but mature as hell for a 17 year old, I've noticed)
To anyone that still actually looks at my profile for SOME weird reason, hi. I haven't updated in a long time, and I realize that. I actually have a reason though. I've been trying to update for quite a while on my Mac, but for some reason the docs never get onto the doc uploader, otherwise I would've updated a while ago.
Because I'm pretty sure I know why you guys are here, I'll say something about it, dammit all.
My Secluded Dragons story is not abandoned or anything like that. Just things like real life have been getting to me pretty damn hard, and my muse has been nonexistent.
I feel like I share this with a lot of authors. Rewriting a story is a pain, and it makes the author feel extremely disappointed with themselves as well. Literally, that piece of literature you wrote and posted, wasn't good enough in your eyes or in someone else's eyes, and complete rewrites or discontinuing fic's, no matter how horrid, are often received with terrible response.
Unfortunately, Secluded Dragons really cannot go any further like it is. Some reviewers have pointed it out, but the plot just never was set up correctly, I allowed the character to grow out of proportion in the completely random direction that I felt on the day of writing the chapter.
Understand something, readers. Secluded Dragons was really the first story I wrote and kept to for a while. It was a brain-child of mine, that reflects my level of writing skill slowly growing, as more chapters were posted.
Thus, a simple 'discontinued' or 'rewrite posted' won't suffice.
Because of that, I overturn my previous statement of discontinuing it. I won't. I'll drag myself deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, and feel terrible at the quality of my writing and my attempt to make sense of all the plot holes.
But I'm also starting anew.
There will be an update to Secluded Dragons, don't worry. But also, there will be a new Highschool DxD fic from me. Same main idea. Same concepts. Less messiness. Different direction.
As weird and egotistic as it sounds, think of this future story as a fanfic to a fanfic.
To everyone that actually still looks down their favorites/follows list to see if I've updated... thank you. It means a lot to me.
Alright, so here is something that popped up a while ago for me but I never really felt a need to comment about it much at the time, besides a rather harsh review that nobody would want to recieve. Let me start with this: when people (like me) judge what story to read, we generally look at the reviews and amount of favorites/follows and the like. Then we look at chapter length and story length, etc.
So when somebody creates a crossover and connects it with a really popular fanbase like Naruto or Harry Potter, they will naturally get more reviews than they might if they simply had their story in the group that it would normally be in without to popular fanbase, like for example, HighSchool Dxd. There is nothing wrong with this, it's simply the way this website and all others like it work.
HOWEVER, when a story is crossover'd with a really popular fanbase, I EXPECT there to exist aspects of both universes, not just one or the other. Simply making the name of the main character the name of the main character in the more popular fanbase does NOT make it a crossover. That is called, ladies and gentlemen, an OC story with an OC character. I don't care if his name is Harry Potter and he looks exactly like he does in the Harry Potter franchise, if he isn't somehow a wizard, that isn't a crossover at all! Or if there aren't wizards in the world somehow, or some sort of relation to the Harry Potter universe! NO EXCEPTIONS! To me this is a blatant way of simply trying to steal reviews and get more people to notice their story, which is fine, but not in this way. You don't see ME making my main character's name NARUTO and giving him BLOND hair and a happy-go-lucky personality, then calling my story a 'cross-over' of Highschool DxD and Naruto!
I'm not apologizing for this remark. People can rage and flame at me about this comment as much as they want, but what I'm saying is what I believe, and nobody is going to change my mind about this.
To that story that I reviewed on about this, I'm not withdrawing my statement either. Your story would've probably been better than my own had it been placed in the correct section.
