"Young Justice" New show, new obsession, and this YJ_ANON_MEMES thing is great fun, it got me writing again after becoming increasingly busy with a new job (Which I love, I'm getting to do a lot of R&D and it is GREAT!!).
Anyway, from my fic, it might be notable that I'm a little fixated on the relationship (or lack there of) between Superboy and Superman in "Young Justice": On one hand, Clark does not have any real responsibility to SB. On the other hand, Clark did choose to set himself up as an example for others to live up to as Superman and here's this kid who really needs someone to be a mentor to him, he's strongly predisposed to see Superman as the alpha and omega, and Clark won't have anything to do with him. Bruce designed Batman to be a figure for criminals to fear, Clark designed Superman to be an ideal to be aspired to. But Clark can't get over his own issues and see that the only person being punished by his reactions is a kid who is in no way responsible for Cadmus' actions. If he weren't Superman, it wouldn't bother me half as much.
With regards to my DBZ stories, the rules of the game that I've set for myself is that all my stories should fit together into a larger tapestry. I am trying to avoid AU's unless they're internally created alternate realities, like the Mirai Timeline. I'm trying very hard not to contradict or ignore cannon, but to work around it. For my purposes cannon is defined as the Viz translation of the Manga, it's my favorite version of DBZ, and it's a whole lot easier to check scenes in the books than it is to try find them in the anime. Since GT doesn't have any manga counter-part I largely accept it as cannon, except I can't stand Kuririn's relationship with his family as depicted in GT.
Timeline for my DBZ stories:
Pre-DBZ (aka Vegeta as a child stories)
Prince, Warrior, Killer, Slave
Set Aside Childish Things
Three Year Gap
Not Who She Expected
Seven Year Gap
Becoming a Family
Choice to Be Different
Talk of Tails and Telepathy
Ignorance is Bliss
The Goal of Normal
Road to the Future
Admiring the View
Also my story "Choice to be Different" sets up a second alternate timeline, like the Mirai Timeline "Diverengent Paths" is set in that timeline.
