Musical tastes of mine veer toward the electrically-induced noise end of the spectrum: punk, hardcore, metal. Rise Against, AFI, Offspring, Linkin Park. Good stuff. If you are a fan of any of these bands and also are on this site your hand may start to tingle. Don't worry, it's just the digital high-five I just gave you.
"Shimmer" by Fuel
"Sing the Sorrow" and "Decemberunderground" by AFI
"Saturate", "Dear Agony", and "Phobia" by Breaking Benjamin
Covers of the aforementioned by Vitamin String, and Vitamin String's Linkin Park covers
"Mercy Me", "Burn", and "Fire Down Below" by Alkaline Trio
These went really good with writing the story. They might go well with reading it. Throwing it out there.
About the writing: I am trying to write a philosophical essay on the morals, mythos, and mysteries of Golden Sun. That essay happens to also be a novel that has characters. Those characters, and their emotional issues, are the stuff of which good analysis is made.
There is a net in this story, a net built of the relationships between men and gods, between fate and free will, between right and wrong, between desire and duty, between past history and present misery. I am writing a story in which I see just what that net can take before it snaps into pieces.
Please comment, if you could, on the bones and the sinews of Catharsis, and not just the skin. I want to see how clearly I am expressing what is wrong with the little 8-bit universe I love so much.
If through some quirk of fate you are reading this, and you want a fanfic edited with a careful and thorough eye, please feel free to drop me a PM.
Catharsis is on chapter fifteen, and it's turning out to be worth all the sweat and blood I've poured into it. Rewritten recently.
No Title is languishing on my hard drive, passing its days in idleness. The poor thing's wasted away to nothing. But there's quite a lot of it and it has a kinda cool plot line, so it'll get a moment in the sun. Except now I can't find it.
Broken Circle, which wrecked my Monday night when I was trying to proof Catharsis. Stupid thing. It's just an idea I had that I wasn't really in the mood to flesh out completely.
