Oh gosh, where to begin:
First off: Hello! I'm Layered like an Onion! Welcome and all that happy stuff.
Second: As to my pen name: yes, I do wear deodorant and shower regularly, so don't make jokes, please! I chose this as my pen name because I'm a very complicated, layered person. Like an onion, for example!
Third: I admit it: I'm an über-perfectionist when it comes to my writing. And, truth be told, I think everyone else should be, too. I want every punctuation mark to be used correctly, every sentence and paragraph to be consistent with the one before and after it, and I absolutely hate typos (though MS Word automatically underlines the offending word for you to revise or autocorrects it for you ). Each time I open one of my fanfic files, I just have to read it over to make sure there isn't anything I missed the last time. So if I don't update or post a new story for weeks or months at a time, it's because of that, or laziness, or schoolwork (your education comes above everything else!), or the dreaded writers' block, which I unfortunately get often.
Most likely my reason for being so obsessive over my writing is because I write things that I would want to read. And being an admitted bibliophile, I'm a stickler for writing that looks like it's ready to fly off the printers and onto bookshelves at Barnes and Noble, if only our stories' characters weren't owned by someone else who could file a lawsuit against us. It's often so rare to find a wonderful fanfic that's in-character, cohesive, and compelling enough to move you. There are some wonderful exceptions, though, and I love reading something like that. There are some really moving fics out there, you just have to search for the diamonds in the rough.
I'm not trying to sound rude. Quite the opposite, really. I thoroughly encourage constructive criticism on my works (and on others' works as well), but all-out flaming is unacceptable in my book. I just love to help each author reap the absolute top-notch, best quality writing they can give. :)

NEW Update (as of 3/25/14): My fanfic Of Punjabs and Peaches is currently under hiatus until my muse decides to play nice and let me write again.
