![]() Author has written 14 stories for Wizard101, Lord of the Rings, Redwall, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pirate101, Mythology, and Stardew Valley. Welcome to my newly redecorated profile. I am Tia, otherwise known as Firestorm Nauralagos. Feel free to call me either Tia or Firestorm- I have no particular preference. :) A Little About Me I’m 23 and work at a bank (woo). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Writing, so I’m super duper good at writing resumes/cover letters/grants/super fun exciting stuff like that. Some of my favorite things are pirates, reading, playing The Sims, and watching stupid YouTube videos. While my favorite hobby is writing, I also do (see- experiment with) lots of different art stuff, including but not limited to: doll customization, painting, drawing, knitting, wood burning, and the occasional sculpture. I’m a Pagan witch and chronic procrastinator with mental health issues for days. Feel free to shoot me a message about any or all of the above if you’re curious. I’ve had a bunch of different mental health names bounced off me by different people. Right now we’re sticking with clinical and seasonal depression, plus a big ole scoop of social anxiety. I’m not embarrassed by any of these - they’re diseases, and being sick shouldn’t embarrass you. I’m pretty open about my mental health since it is a big factor in why I am the way I am, which extends to me as a writer. It’s a topic that is all too often stigmatized, hidden away, and ignored, so I’m gonna talk about it. If you have questions or just wanna talk about mental health stuff, I’m open to it. Hello Yes, I am an Entire AdultTM Hey. I work a full-time job and pay bills and stuff. I’m buying a house. I go to the grocery store. I gotta make dentist appointments and stuff. I get excited about storage solutions. Add in the “severe depression and anxiety” thing and you have a bad combination for a writer. Sometimes I get home after a 9-hour workday and an hour commute each way, and I don’t have the energy for writing. I love writing, and I love to share that with other people on websites like this one, but I want to be very clear that it simply can’t be my main priority the way it was in grade school. I’m going to continue with the stories posted on here (or most of them, anyway) but before leaving a review getting mean with me for not updating for six months, or a year, or whatever, remember that sometimes I gotta visit the DMV or refill my prescriptions or wash dishes before writing can even get on my to-do list. Be patient with me please! Updates might be sporadic, and there might be super long periods of time in between them, but I’ve got ideas for how to fix some of that stuff. Thanks for being cool. :) Story News I AM NOT CONTINUING THE FIRESONG SAGA. Alright, I said it. *whew* “But Firestorm! That was your most popular story and lots of people were reading it!” Yeah, I know. That’s why I want to do it justice, which I can’t do by trying to jump back on the story where I left off. If I continue with Journey in its current form, either I’m gonna make myself miserable by trying to write in the style of a high school student, or there will be inevitable continuity errors since it’s been six years since I updated it. That’s not good enough, either for me or for the people who read it back then. To be perfectly transparent, I reread my old writing and I’m embarrassed by it. The entire point of writing, both fanfiction and not, is to make myself happy and bring some enjoyment to others. There’s a compromise that will both make me happy (by not forcing myself to write a mediocre conclusion to a 10-year-old story) and will make the readers of JoFS happy (by finishing the story). So, I present to you: THE FIRESONG TRILOGY A completely rewritten story following Alexandra Firesong’s life in the Spiral. The majority of the characters will still be present, although the way I’m handling OCs is going to be super different. I’m creating a cast of characters and sticking with it this time, so I don’t get overwhelmed dealing with spreadsheets of 50 characters, personalities, relationships, etc. (Yes, I actually had spreadsheets. It was terrible:’D) OCs that were long-standing characters are going to get redone, so I’m not stealing anyone else’s ideas while keeping my storyline and relationships relatively intact. A big change from before is that I’m treating this like a real book in terms of how I write it. Before I post anything for the new first story, I’m writing most or all of it - that way, if I do have any length of time where I can’t write, it won’t affect the upload process much if at all. There are other things I’m planning to change, but that’s all stuff to be dealt with once I start uploading the new story. The plotline itself will stay as true to the original story as I can make it, with changes to things like … oh, Bat’s possession, for example? (Nothing embarrasses me like that plot point *cries forever*) Stuff that was neither written well nor well planned. The gist of it is, you’re getting the same story, just told (hopefully) with way more skill. Yay verily. Enough rambling, I’m gonna go write stuff. Where Can Firestorm Be Found? (Besides lurking on fanfiction.net) - I have some trash posted on Fiction Press under the same pen name, but I’m not planning to continue any of the stuff on there that’s in progress. You have been warned. - I’m on Archive of Our Own under the name FirestormNauralagos (no space since there wasn’t room). Most or all of what I post from here on out will be cross-posted there. - I am a moderator on a couple of forums on , although they don’t get much traffic anymore. - I’m a beta reader on both this website and Fiction Press, although I’m not able to take on much on that front due to job, adulting, etc. UPCOMING STORIES The Call of Fire’s Song - The Firesong Trilogy Part 1. Summary etc. to be written later. Rating: T, probably, if I can reign in the swearing :P |
