Well...I thought I had filled this section out several years ago...apparently not. Here's what you need to know, want to know and really don't care about. I am a late 40 year old female, married to a wonderful man with three kids (all grown or pretty close to it). I live in America…specifically North Central Florida. I work full-time running a Social Service Agency that helps adults who live with a mental illness recover. I love American Football, Boston sports teams and am a sports nut. I enjoy rugby, though my knee did not like my short foray into that sport, and even Soccer, on a world level.
I fell in love with Harry Potter about 15 years ago, when my sister-in-law gave me Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I was hooked and stayed hooked, though the last two books I found lacking...but whom am I to criticize...she made millions...sold millions...and created the characters that I adapt, to meet my needs. I am more of a reader than an author but I have several stories in the fire right now.
If I publish a story than it is either entirely written or pretty darn close. I absolutely hate waiting years for an update to a story. I also will not start a story until I finish the one I am working on (another pet peeve). I won't write MPREG, Dramione, or Ron/Hermione (He was never good enough for her...sorry).
IF and only IF I write a Hermione raped story…it will be realistic. Women in general DO NOT fall in love with their rapist, no matter what the motivation. Rape is an act of violence, not sex. It dark, evil and life altering, it is not romantic; it is not the beginning of a relationship, it is not something that one overcomes in a matter of weeks or even months. It takes years, and stays with you for life. It is an act that is so misrepresented or misunderstood by fanfiction authors that it is disturbing. I am not opposed to writing a rape based story, but if I do it won’t be fluffy or lemony.
My Severus/Hermione stories may not all be romantic, though I do love those two together. I also like the idea of them being friends, mentors, etc. I really have a hard time with either of them being in a relationship with each other while she was in school unless it’s a Ministry interference thing (marriage law, Voldemort, Muggle Protection Act…etc.), so if I start there the relationship (even friendship) would be very slow moving.
Anyhow, that’s me…thanks for reading and Go Red Sox!
