Author has written 11 stories for Ranma, Sailor Moon, Final Fantasy I-VI, Crow, Mass Effect, and Strawberry Panic!.
Not as lively as I was hoping to be. The Makings of a Hero is coming along slowly. Steadily, but slowly. I also have another new work on the back end titled Of Men and Supermen that is mostly a personal project, a crossover between Ranma and the DC Universe that I'm letting write itself when the inspiration hits me. Regarding The Makings of a Hero, it's difficult to think about how I want to write it. The problem stems from not wanting to just infodump the canon of Mass Effect everywhere, but so much of what happens in the game is dependent on the decisions Shepard makes on screen that it's hard to reach a balance between showing too much of what never changes and simply trying to excuse bad writing by skipping a difficult segment. Just as importantly, I want to show what goes on inside Shepard's head during key segments--Virmire, for instance, or during close, emotionally intense moments between Shepard and the crew.
Certain parts are an obvious "out." While I may make a callback gag to, for instance, the assignment where Shepard runs around the Citadel scanning the Keepers, I have no intention of writing the scene of Shepard running around scanning Keepers. Likewise, no record of Shepard flying around the galaxy randomly scanning planets for minerals will be committed to this, even though there will be references made to such an event. To some people, the hunt of the Keepers was enjoyable to do; I doubt if anyone really enjoyed the mineral scanning, though, and I doubt further that anyone would want to read about either, except maybe in the form of Shepard begging Garrus to not bring up the subject ever again.
The only controversial part about this, at least within my own mind, is somewhat spoiler-related. The planet of Alchera, which fellow Mass Effect players may recall, was emotionally charged for several reasons, and I heavily debate putting it in for the emotional value while simultaneously consider keeping it out to avoid detracting from the conflict of the story. Thoughts? If anyone still reads this, at least.
It's a resurrection. While I am still not sure if I will ever revive the old fics already present on this page (and hey, I might), I have at least one new one in the works on top of the one I've just posted. The Makings of a Hero will have absolutely no crossover within its main line. No affiliations with Ranma will be made known. I'm not just waiting to surprise you with a plot twist down the line. Maybe I'll write an Elseworlds-style sidestory and do a crossover with something, but no Ranma will touch TMofH.
Beyond this, we'll see where I go from here.
