NOTICE : 3/24/15 - Beta services would be much appreciated for The Magicweaver.
I go by Song.
If you're interested in browsing my favorites history (which contains some things I'm honestly embarrassed about reading) then go ahead; some really good things are there! I personally suggest Lightningonthewave's stories that make up the Sacrifices Arc if you're looking to read something extremely long and amazing (seriously, it is the best written piece of work I have ever, ever read, outshining the original Harry Potter series, in my opinion, although those will continue to hold lots of sentimental value). For a more current list of my interests (assuming you browse favorites like a creep like I do to find new things) I would suggest looking over in my favorite authors; generally I keep that up to date.
I hope you enjoy your stay! Feel free to drop me a PM if you want to chat a bit.
Current Works in Progress:
A giftfic for Christmas for one of my friends. It's currently called The Magicweaver, although I may change that name in the future if I find something more appropriate. So far, the name is just giving me direction and reminding me of certain elements that I have to be sure to emphasize! If you have any suggestions, though, I'm open to hearing them.
Anyway, it features Harry Potter and Tom Riddle growing up at the orphanage together. Harry arrives at the orphanage at the age of five after running away from St. Mungo's, where he was hospitalized after a horrible accident that killed his parents, unwilling to be given away to new "replacement" parents. It's somewhat canon-compliant (but Harry is not the Boy-Who-Lived-to-Travel-Back-in-Time) and might possibly become slash if it gets past 40k. So far, it's isolated instances of their shared childhood where they grew closer together and explored their unique talents with the help of a skill that Harry acquired after his accident. I'm planning to definitely go on to Hogwarts years, and I am planning to somewhat include the realities of WW2, as I believe it is something that would have made a very strong impact on Tom's psyche in canon.
I found a gif which is rather similar to what I imagine magic in this universe to look like! According to my research, it's much like Final Fantasy's Lifestream concept (in looks, anyway). Here's a
Published Word Count as of 4/19/15: 67,688 words
Amount of words of Chapter 13 written (4/19/15): 0 words (LAST CHAPTER BEFORE DUMBLEDORE ENCOUNTER!)
(Childhood Arc! is finishing up. May take some time to properly outline Hogwarts years.)
Probably a rather long oneshot or twoshot. Detailing assassin!Tom and assassin!Harry in a pseudo-friendly rivalry (in everything). Currently in planning stages.
I've long loved MoD!Harry works, so this is a particularly eccentric take on dear old Death and Harry, centering around the strange friendship that they develop as Harry watches the world go by. Currently it is trying to push itself into becoming a longer fic, so this one will be pending for a while.
The Final Returns
A oneshot dedicated to ajazminisaflower, who answered a challenge correctly in The Magicweaver.
It features a Tom who, against his better judgment, leaves to travel the world and learn Dark magic. However, Tom cannot forget Harry as time goes by.
It is a songfic centered around the song I Bet My Life by Imagine Dragons.
Sun and Sky
Another oneshot based off of Wax and Wire by Loch Lomond.
It features desperate measures and unexpected results as Tom tries to bring Harry back.
Oneshot that isn't a songfic, surprise surprise. I was intrigued by the idea of battle lust and wanted to explore how Harry would deal with it...on the Light side and the Dark side. Not my best work, but it was fun to write.
What Are Stars Without a Sky?
Songfic, based off of Boats and Birds - Gregory and the Hawk. Harry has always been the sky to Tom, his star.
A short fic based on what I would imagine living inside a diary to be like. Horcrux Tom and a lot of Alice in Wonderland references.
