![]() Author has written 7 stories for Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal. SPECIAL NOTE OF THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO PM, REVIEW, or LIST EITHER MYSELF AS A FAVORITE AUTHOR OR ADD ONE OF MY STORIES TO THEIR FAVORITE LIST! It is the highest of all compliments and it's encouraging to writers to hear what you think. Without reviews, we're just whistling in the dark, so to anyone who takes the time, thank you so much! Hello my dear fanfic friends! I have not abandoned NMSL and will begin posting regular updates in the coming weeks. At the moment, I'm familiarizing myself with the plot points to date and reading through my notes to make sure I'm on the right track. If you want regular updates or peeks inside the newest chapters, you can follow me on Twitter — make sure to let me know you're a NMSL reader so I'll make sure to follow you back! L.H. @This_is_LH and feel free to check out #NMSL on Twitter! IF I SAW YOU EVERY DAY FOREVER, I WOULD REMEMBER THIS TIME... Hello my dear fanfic friends! While I work to complete the final chapters of NMSL III (yes, it's almost finished), I've been working on an original novel based on my H, and have been taking my fanfiction ideas and translating them into novel form. I'm working with a professional editor now, and have an agent interested in the work, so stay tuned for publication updates. I don't think I'll ever be 100% satisfied with the process, so deciding when it's done seems to be the tricky part! Every time I think I've solved all of my plot points, H decides to take me down another path, so I'll just need to trust him to tell me when he's done. Too many projects, at the moment, and too little time! Thanks so much for continuing to show an interest in my writing. I'm in love with my H, and can't wait to take him away from the pages of fanfiction, and out into the real world! Hello, fellow Lecterphile! Would you like to know something about me? A sample then, why not! EDUCATION: Master's Degree--no writing classes other than the basic college requirements, but I'm sure that shows. 6th Year coursework in Education/Diversity and Multiculturalism. No More a Savage Life is my first attempt at writing, so please be kind :) I am fascinated with Thomas Harris' powerfully brilliant characters, and will continue to develop my own versions of their lives. I hope true fans of Thomas Harris' work will find my efforts worthy of his wonderfully complex, brilliant novels. Location:USA, New England: Connecticut specifically. I've had many excellent meals here! I've recently developed a bit of an obsession with the town of Svalbard, Spitsbergen, Norway. I summered there and it was the time of my life. Returning and one day owning a cabin there is a dream of mine. I may have to place our H in the arctic. A lemony little one shot, perhaps! It's a beautiful place to share with the one you love, and placing H near a polar bear might be quite entertaining! About Me:I'm a widow, a mom, an artist and potentially a writer- perhaps you can judge whether or not I am qualified ;) Things I love: My husband (11/10/12 Rest in Peace, my Love), my children--they are my life! Anthony Hopkins in anything and everything! He is brilliant! If you're curious how I see my characters, my Hannibal is Anthony Hopkins. I began writing #NMSL and the ancillary fics in my collection long before the existence of Bryan Fuller's incarnation. As such, Hopkins is my Hannibal. As for Clarice, I tend to imagine an amalgam of both Jodie and Julianne. I appreciate both performances, so in my mind it's a little of each. Jodie as the young agent Starling, and Julianne as the more mature, romantic Clarice. The #NMSL crew ROCKS! YOU'LL GET ADDITIONAL UPDATES (AND LITTLE HINTS ABOUT THE UPCOMING CHAPTERS) I'LL FOLLOW YOU BACK AND U CAN CHAT WITH ME AND MY OTHER FANFIC FRIENDS! If you have any questions- just ask but don't forget to start or end your tweet with #NMSL so I know you're a reader. My NMSL peeps get special Twitter attention! Hannibal Junior's (Devyni) vital stats: There are no coincidences in fan fiction, least of all in our little corner of Lecterland. I've gotten several inquiries about how I decided the date and time of the baby's birth so I thought I'd offer the explanations. The baby's birth time was 12:31 a.m., chosen to celebrate the only true Hannibal it's Anthony Hopkins birthday, so, thanks T-Hop! The birth date itself, April 26th, is not only the birthday of Marcus Aurelius, the historic figure significant to Hannibal and Clarice from SOTL, but also the birthday of Evelyn, Lusting4Lecter's mother (I envy your alias, my dear friend!). It is an homage to our friendship. TWIN!!! LH FAN FICTION I LOVE: Any fic that involves Hannibal and Clarice's relationship. This does not have to include lemons, though they can be fun if the writer is not self-conscious about the process. If you don't feel comfortable going all out with it- don't bother. Hannibal's mind games written by clever people! Hannibal is a tough character to write dialogue for, so anyone who can get that characterization correct deserves kudos! FAN FICTION I HATE: Any fic that kills off the main characters- it seems sacrilegious. Although I have loved some fics that have. Any fic that has Hannibal either babysitting some new boy or girl "junior killer" or has Hannibal taking the new Kiddie Cannibal under his wing. Although he has played the mentor (more for his amusement than anything else) I don't think playing babysitter is in his nature. Fics based on song lyrics-Not that they're bad but if you aren't familiar with the song you can't really relate. Any fic that dramatically changes the history of the main characters such as adding family members or siblings to Clarice or Hannibal's background. Adding characters is fine-it's expected, but giving the characters siblings or extended family members that radically changes canon seems unnecessary to me. Fiction that alters the personalities of the main characters. OOC situations can happen when writing but if the characters stray too far it is disconcerting. For example, Hannibal is a gentleman and is never rude. He follows a very strict moral code. He wouldn't bed down with a teenager for god's sake! I will give any fic a chance and people have surprised me with stories I thought I would hate when I read the description but fell in love with so none of the above is written in stone! If you read a fic spend a few moments to review! Writers are solitary creatures and the writing process is a singular endeavor. It becomes communal on a site like this when readers take a moment to provide feedback. Movies and television: Obviously the Hannibal Lecter series= Hopkins portrayal, specifically The other movies are fine but Hannibal and Hopkins are linked in my mind! As for the television show, my obsession with Hannibal book and film canon made the TV show nearly unwatchable for me. More the pity, as I believe Mads Mikkelsen is a gifted actor and was extremely well suited to the part. Perhaps, one day, the DeLaurentiis family will allow another Hannibal film with Mikkelsen recreating the part more in line with actual canon. I'd buy a ticket now! Good horror, if it's got a point. None of that idiotic slasher gore, although Zombies rock! MUSIC: Classical it's Bach, Mozart, Pavarotti- Ave Maria Nessun Dorma=perfection, Beniamino Gigli singing I Pescatori di Perle is absolutely transcendent. Things I hate: The telephone (cell phones included) with a passion that burns brighter than the sun itself! Self-important, pretentious people, know-it-all's can be tedious...very tedious... If you enjoy my writing (or if you don't and have constructive criticism), please review! One aims to improve, so I appreciate constructive feedback. Any and all comments and/or advice you have to offer would be taken in the same generous spirit by which it was offered! My thanks to the readers who review regularly!
