Author has written 14 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter.
Ah, you've stumbled across my profile, I see. Well, welcome, welcome, make yourself at home. Mind the furniture; its rather cluttered in here.
So! Who am I? Well, a long time fanfiction writer who has taken a very long hiatus. I've written in multiple fandoms, but the only work I have on here are my Lord of the Rings one shots, several stories that will, sadly, never be continued, and a lonely Harry Potter fic.
My 'Lord of the Rings' fandom is and always will be my most treasured one. In the past, I have been a notorious Potter-hater prone to flinging Rowling's books across the room in a fit of irritation. The plot holes and characterization problems frustrated me immensely. Not to even get into the CAPSLOCK!HARRY of Order of the Phoenix.
So what changed? Well, for one thing I have grown up considerably. I will be turning twenty on Tuesday, the sixteenth of May and have spent 2 years in college studying to become a teacher. My most recent Lit. class was focused on the Potter series, so I was literally assalted with Harry every bloody week. It was either learn to like the series, or go stark raving mad. So, while I still am not a real fan of Harry as a character, I have grown to be fond of some of the more secondary characters. I find Lupin and Snape to be the two most fascinating characters in the entire series, and was frustrated that there was so little information about them in the canon itself. So, in a move that shocked my friends and family, I began to delve into the world of Harry Potter fanfiction.
What a suprise I recieved! There are several fics out there that I enjoy far more than the canon itself. Oh, I'm rather embarassed about it, I can tell you that. When I first ventured in the HP fandom, I rather felt as if I was cheating on a spouse. All my LotR fics seemed to glare at me accusingly from my computer screen as I began 'Tramp Werewolf' and it was all I could do to pretend I didn't notice them. I found myself looking over my shoulder, terrified somebody would come in and see me reading HP fanfiction. But I couldn't sodding stop.
Oh, of course I ran into the poorly written drivel at first. I skeptically waded through a torrent of angsty fics, song fics, and abhorent OOC romance fics. I grew picky in my searching and would only read fics that focused on Lupin before HBP (because I HATE Remus/Tonks. Hate it. Hate it). And I found some good ones; some of them are up there with my favorite LotR fics.
So! Enough of this ramble. If you have read this far, I will send you an award. I leave you as a LotR fic veteran and a somewhat reluctant new entry to the HP fandom.
