Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter.
Hi, I go by Claire or my pen name scion.of.morbidity.
I'm a teenager and I have written six stories so far, all for Harry Potter.
So, about me:
I hate spelling mistakes, and can't stand it when fic writers use incorrect
grammar. I especially can't stand it when people mix up 'your' and 'you're'
as well as 'there', 'their' and 'they're'. Having said that, I probably make a
lot of these mistakes myself. If you see that I've made a grammar and/or
spelling mistake, please tell me.
I also can't stand clichés. They drive me up the wall - unless they're well written.
When I write I try to combat such horrors, although I'm sure I've succumbed
In fact, I'm right now writing a short ficlet in which Independent!Harry
goes on his Independent!shopping trip, but finds that he doesn't have a
permit, and other such goodies. It's still in the works, and I only write it
when I'm stuck for ideas in Nightmares, but we'll see...
Another fact about me: I love italics.
Seven White Lies Told for the Greater Good - I believe the title explains it.
Lord of Magic - a bit weird. It also reads funny. Basically it's about Voldemort.
The Yellow Room - Luna/Rolf fluff. Kind of insane.
Supposed To Be - You know the story about Harry getting soul bonded to a random girl then using that bond to kill Voldemort and save the world? This story crushes that one.
My novelish thing:
Nightmares of Reality
This is a story partly in answer to all the stories in which Harry has
a sibling who everybody believes to be the chosen one, and so James
and Lily ignore him in favour of his siblings, so he'll probably go dark,
or just go Independent. Well sorry, but that's not happening in this story.
For one thing, my Harry isn't neglected. For another, his twin brother is
actually the Boy-Who-Lived. And Lily, James, Remus and Sirius don't
all have jobs at Hogwarts - in fact, none of them do. That particular cliché
always bugs me - it is completely unrealistic for a group of friends to
all be teachers - Snape with a side of Remus is enough!
I'm done with first year, and I have an ending planned for seventh year
which I'm really excited about. I have most of the other years planned
as well, so it shouldn't take too long to finish... Read that as I expect to
finish in... a few years, now that I think about it... Wow, that's a long time.
Then again, it's seven books...
I'm just realising the commitment I've made.
So please read (and review).
Stories Not Yet In Writing:
So far I've only written the prologue, but I'm trying to plan the rest of
it. The logistics of this story are difficult. You know the whole alternate
universe category of fanfiction - well in this case Harry's universe is
split during the sorting - in one universe he goes to Slytherin, in another
he becomes the Gryffindor we know and love.
From here, everything is cannon up to sixth year - or about then. But
Harry holds a secret - every day he switches between the two paths of
Slytherin or Gryffindor. Essentially there are two Harrys, swapping each
day. During their first year they figure this out and learn to go with the
flow, learning to write down everything about their day so that the
"Other Harry" won't be suspected. Later, they would use penseives.
I have no idea how this would end, but what I think would happen is
that one Harry would do something horrible that he wouldn't tell the
other about, leading to a certain set of events. I think the aim of the
story would be to somehow 'fix the split' between the worlds...
This is a story I've been dancing around for a while. It diverges in the
Chamber of Secrets. Only Ginny comes out alive and the Diary is left in
the chamber, forgotten. Because a student (Harry) has died and they
still don't know who or what opened the chamber Hogwarts closes.
Through some hard work Voldemort gets himself back to life and eventually
takes over. He finds out from Lucius that the Diary was given to Ginny
and so goes to investigate the girl studying at Durmstrang... I won't
give any more of the plot away.
Wren - tentative title
This is a time travel fic, but hopefully not like most of them. I don't
know if I'll ever get around to writing it, but here is a short idea of what
Warren Peace Davies (or 'Wren') is the grandson of Harry Potter (son
of Lily and Thomas Davies). He is a proud Gobledist (a Goblin religion
quite popular with many witches and wizards, Lily included, which
swears to Griphook who took over after reclaiming the sword of Gryffindor).
He, quite understandably, hates his name (naming children after
literature being the latest naming craze in the wizarding world, which
is all Hermione's fault - or possibly Neville's for calling his child Frankenstein).
But Harry is killed by an up and coming Dark Lord and Wren's entire
family is in the line of fire. When he's sixteen his parents are killed by
the Dark Lord and as their only hope Wren, at seventeen, is sent back in
time to save the world.
Pretty cliché start, I know, but there's a plot twist that I haven't
mentioned waiting to happen and Wren never goes to Hogwarts, because
he's sent back to 1998 before Voldemort was defeated.
I've got a lot of back story for this right now - not so much actual story
so I'll only post something if I know where it's going and I can keep it
I have numerous other fics I'm working on... Maybe I'll post more about them another day.
Wow. Fifth of April and no updates.
Well, I'm on holidays now so I've got lot's of time to get somewhere with
Nightmares... and hopefully cure myself of the need to write a story with the
premise of 'what would have happened if Dudley had died before 1981 Halloween'
or 'what if Hermione had been born twenty days early and so was in the grade
above Harry and Ron?'
