Author has written 7 stories for StarTrek: Deep Space Nine.
I am an American expatriate living in Europe, in Germany, to be more precise. How I got here is a combination of random factors, as Spock would say, and rather involved, thus would take up too much space here. If someone is hoping a romantic involvement had me settle here is out of luck, as I decided to remain unmarried for genetic reasons.
I work as a foreign language teacher (English and French) at a high school/senior college in Idstein; my principle is that teenagers are great people - quite honest if treated with respect, and definitely not as shallow as made out to be on TV and in the other media..
My interest in Star Trek began the first time it was shown here, (1972) and my involvement in fan fiction some years after, with a series based on Amok Time. When Deep Space 9 aired, it captivated me at once for its complex character relationships, politics and historical parallels so that after some time, I switched to writing about a self-created character - more freedom there! - who is involved in the mainstream story to a degree, but does not become truly active until after the end of the Dominion War. Whoever reads my stories will find many of the familiar characters., some mentioned only others interacting with my Gul and her associates.
I have finally mastered the art of uploading texts so that they do not appear in a solid clump of words, so when you read my stories (there will be more to come), please comment. Comments are most helpful.
Greetings,
Gul Melset
