Author has written 9 stories for Holby City, Ironman, Harry Potter, and Death in Paradise.
I have recently changed my pen-name. I used to be called "Missy Mayhem", so if you're wondering how the heck I ended up on your favourite/subscription list when you haven't a clue who I am, now you know! Changing my name was not a decision I took lightly, but it was unfortunately rather necessary. Being the numpty that I am, I neglected to Google it before I chose the name, and it turns out that Missy Mayhem is an *ahem* "adult" actress, shall we say... So to avoid confusion, I have adopted "The Thinking Woman" instead! She, I will have you know, is totally sweet and innocent. Probably.
And now for something completely different:
Currently, my main obsession is the BBC series "Death in Paradise". I'm also very much into BBC Sherlock, and am getting VERY excited about the forthcoming series 3. In my opinion, these two programmes are worth the licence fee on their own!
My other loves are Iron Man (Iron Man 3 is out soon, which is very exciting!), Avengers and Harry Potter. In fact, if Alan Rickman and Robert Downey Jr wanted to take turns reading my shopping list, that'd be fine by me.
I also enjoy a bit of Silent Witness (before Harry left - I've refused to watch it since), Ashes to Ashes, Holby City, and Sherlock Holmes (the RDJ version, naturally).
I'm very excited now to be beta-reading for the fantastic Shaye Vespertine, who is currently writing what I believe will prove to be a very exciting and totally unique Iron Man fic. The title is Tarnished, and you need to go and read (and review) it now! It's been on hiatus for a little while, but I know the author is definitely planning to continue with it. The lovely Vesper also created the awesome image I have as my avatar, so many thanks to her for that!
I have also had the pleasure of beta-reading for the brilliant Edhla, who writes amazing non-slash Sherlock fics. She has done several Sherlock-POV stories, and some beautiful John/Molly multi-chapter fics, so if Johnlock's not your thing (and tbh, even if it is, her John/Molly is still absolutely believable), and you like a well-thought-out case, then head on over!
So, what am I writing at the moment?
I also have lots of ideas for Sherlock/Johnlock, though as it'll be my first foray into writing slash, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to give it a go just yet!
I have several (30-odd!) Iron Man fics in various states of unwritten-ness on my hard drive. Most of them will probably never get finished, but there are a few I am determined to finish. There is one work-in-progress I have started to publish on here: Life S.C.I.E.N.C.E. It hasn't been updated in a while because I'm stuck on chapter 2, but rest assured, it will get finished at some point. Eventually. Maybe after Iron Man 3?
I also have very many plot-bunnies for Harry Potter stories. Again, a lot of them will probably never see the light of day, but I'm intending to give it a go. So far, I've only published the one HP fic, so it's a new fandom for me. (My favourite pairing is Hermione/Severus, so if that's not your bag, baby, you might want to look away! In their defence, it's not actually as odd/revolting a pairing as a lot of people seem to think! I think a lot of the "eww!" factor comes from the fact that, in the films, there is clearly a HUGE age-difference between the actors playing these characters. In the books, this isn't the case: there is just under 20 years between them, which in an adult relationship, isn't really that much. I must point out here that ALL of my fics take place years after the end of Deathly Hallows, putting Hermione in her mid-20's, so it's all perfectly legal! To me, they seem quite well suited: both are intelligent individuals, addicted to books, insufferable know-it-alls, socially awkward and frequently misunderstood by their peers. If Snape ever had survived and moved on from Lily, I think it would have been with someone like Hermione. There endeth the lecture!)
