Author has written 16 stories for Repo! The Genetic Opera, RENT, Devil's Carnival, Matrix, and Alice, 2009.
(Note: I used to be known as Bird in a Rented Mask. Felt like ringing in the changes. It's still me, however. Same author, new name.)
I know you're supposed to write about yourself here, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to begin. I'll give it my best shot.
Stuff about me:
Um, I'm a self-confessed musical-theatre addict, although I haven't seen many live performances. Phantom of the Opera is, and always will be, my one true love in the field of stage shows. (I never even saw it live. I just found the 25th anniversary DVD in a shop and it looked like something I might like. I think I must have watched it about five times in a row once I got it home. Ramin Karimloo, you are a god among men. MARRY ME...!! Uh, ahem...and I've seen the famed Gerard Butler film, and it was...meh. I didn't hate it or anything, but really, it kind of pales in comparison to the stage version. Plus *whispers in a low voice so Gerry-phangirls won't hear* he couldn't really sing. Hot he may have been, but his voice just makes me cringe.) [Did I go off on a tangent there? My apologies.]
I am a very proud Plague Rat. If you have no idea what the hell that means and you don't care, ignore it. If you're curious, PM me. I'll be more than happy to enlighten the uninitiated. If you actually have some idea what I'm on about, good for you! Spread the Plague and F.L.A.G!
Also, I've been a Whovian since I was a child. I've followed the series religiously since the introduction of the Ninth Doctor (and hope to watch some of the classic episodes someday), and I don't think I've ever cried as hard as I did at the episode "Doomsday."
I get distracted by new things easily. This means two things:
One- the obsessions/ship list below will continue to grow as I continue my fanfiction career. So check back often to see if I've added something you like.
I'm also really damn shy. I get nervous about publishing new stories because I'm afraid that people won't like them once they're up. To make things worse, I have this awful habit of getting writer's block after posting a WIP story.
Today I figured it would be a good idea to post up a list of things I'm in to, so that anybody (if there's anyone looking at this profile) who's interested in my writing will know what I do. My obsessions (as of today, listed in no particular order and subject to addition) are:
-Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (In which I ship all canon pairings, and sometimes Spike/OC)
-Repo! The Genetic Opera (Shilo/Graves, Mag/Nathan, Pavi/whoever )
-Phantom of the Opera (Erik/Christine, Erik/OC)
-RENT (Roger/Mark, Roger/Mimi, Roger/OC, Collins/Angel, Maureen/Joanne)
-Les Miserables (Grantaire/Enjolras [I don't even care what you say; it was in the book] Fantine/Valjean [He obviously had feelings for her, guys.])
-V for Vendetta (Added November 2012) (Oh, the irony!) (Evey/V, as if there were any other pairings out there, I might be tempted into V/OC, but it never seems to go very well)
-Labyrinth (I've always loved this film!) (Jareth/Sarah, Occasional Jareth/OC)
-The Lost Boys (Star/Michael, David/Star, David/OC) [Since he never really had a love interest in the movie...]
-Next to Normal (Uh...well, to be honest, I wasn't really keen on the whole Natalie/Henry thing. Don't hate me for that, all you hardcore Natalie/Henry lovers. I also fell in love with Gabe at first sight. Could be because he's, well, Aaron Tviet in a purple shirt. I mean, c'mon, what's not to love about that??)
-The Matrix Trilogy (Added May 2013) (Trinity/Neo...are there any other canon couples? And I guess Smith/OC)
-Doctor Who (Rose/Ten, and occasionally Whouffle, which is Eleven/Clara for those of you who don't speak Whovian)
-Wicked (Fiyero/Elphaba, with occasional lapses into all-out Gelphie, and Boq/Nessarose, even though they didn't have much of a real romance in the musical*sadface*)
-Syfy's Alice (Hatter/Alice. Seriously. I don't think I've ever felt more love for a couple than I did in their final scene. My heart all but exploded from the feels.)
-Moulin Rouge (Christian/Satine, platonic Christian/OC)
BTW, if anyone reads this and sees a fandom they like, I am open for requests/prompts. just PM me :) Sadly, though, I may be some time in getting back to you. But don't worry. You will not be ignored.
My Fanfiction pet hates:
-Views Without Reviews: Sort of a personal one, but I hate it when something I've written has views/visitors, but no reviews. Seriously. If you've taken the time out of your day to bother reading something, the least you could do is leave a few words of concrit or feedback. It's a bit of a letdown when I've spent so long working on a story, and nobody bothers to tell me how I've done. It just makes the whole writing progress seem like a waste of time.
-Bandfics in a totally random category: I'm pretty sure there'll be someone who agrees with me here. It drives me insane when I'm scrolling through an archive (usually something small or musical-based) and there's a random Mary-Sue-gets-with-a-member-of-a-boyband fanfic in there. I respect the people who write bandfics, and believe them to be fanfiction in their own right, but this website is not the place for them. Try Livejournal or Wattpad.
-Lousy grammar/spelling: proof-read it. 'Nuff said.
-Flaming: If you can't say nothin' nice, don't say nothin' at all. Also, there are better ways of pointing out flaws in somebody's work without being rude. And if you really feel the need to vent your frustrations at an author, have the guts to sign in before you do it.

The Wicked Creed
Whenever it rains, I promise to remember Elphie.
Whenever I see animal abuse, I promise to remember Doctor Dillamond.
Whenever I see someone with disabilities, I promise to remember Nessarose.
When I see someone whose vanity blinds them, I'll think of Galinda.
When I see someone who's changed for good through a death, I'll remember Glinda.
When I hear about cruel dictators, I'll curse the Wizard and his deeds.
When I see a bullying teacher, I'll remember Madame Morrible.
When I see two lovers risking everything for the other, I'll remember Fiyero and Elphaba.
When I hear children teasing another child for differences, I'll remember Elphaba and her strength.
When I see two friends fighting, I'll remember Glinda and Elphaba...and how one argument can affect the rest of your life.
When I see a boy lovesick over a girl that'll never be his, I'll remember Boq.
Whenever I see a monkey chattering, I'll remember how hard Elphaba worked to get Chistery to talk.
If you love Wicked, think of this creed and post it in your profile.
