"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." - Ernest Hemingway
J.R.R Tolkien is my literary prophet, Alan Moore my social commentator. Shakespeare is my drama coach, Mary Shelley my professor in the sublime, and Sun Tzu and Solomon my philosophical forefathers. Aronofsky, Nolan, Kubrick, and Fincher serve as my psychological magistrates, with Jackson, Cuaron, and Snyder focusing the lens and adjusting the color of my intrepid tales. These are my inspirations and influences and I can only hope that they reflect in my writing. Kudos to whomever can identify all of the aforementioned artistic titans of past and present.

Favorite Fanfic Characters (Mains, Protagonists, Heroes)
Disclaimer - As a voracious reader as well as a devotee of film and television alike, suffice to say this list does not remotely encompass my favorite characters of all time. To make such a list would take time I don't have as well as require strenuous effort on your part as a reader. Besides, choices like Hamlet, Kvothe, or Ig Parrish going alongside the likes of Wade Wilson or Bruce Wayne might throw most of you for a loop. Instead, this is a list of my favorite characters from some of the largest fanfiction communities on the site... or at least the ones I adhere to most.
Harry Potter: Harry Potter, Sirius Black, James Potter, George and Fred Weasley, Fleur Delacour, Nymphadora Tonks
Naruto: Naruto Uzumaki, Itachi Uchiha, Minato Namikaze, Gaara, Yahiko and Konan, Jiraiya the Galant, Anko Mitarishi, Kushina Uzumaki, Nagato Uzumaki
Honorable Mentions: Edward Elric and Roy Mustang - Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 version), Vash the Stampede - Trigun, Commander Shepard, Garrus, Thane, Wrex, Jack, Mordin - Mass Effect, the entire cast of Firefly/Serenity, Aang, Toph, Iroh, and Zuko for Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kenichi from Kenichi: the Mightiest Disciple, and Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku from Dragonball Z. Should I ever write a story in any of these fictional universes, these characters would easily serve as points of interest if not primary protagonists.
Shinobi Power System: For any and all of my future Naruto!fics, please adhere to the following data-book rating system shared by the entirety of the Elemental Nations. I'm not necessarily a fan of "power-level" comparisons, as its often times an immature dick measuring contest. However, I can see the need for such a ranking system in Naruto stories, so here goes. Much like several of writers on the site (IronMonkeyFist being one of them), I feel that the canon data-book doesn't cover all of the basic fields that go along with being a shinobi, so I ventured to make my own - one that happens to fit my story better. Just bear in mind that what a person has on paper doesn't necessarily mean they can't be beaten by those "weaker" than them or topple those "stronger" than them. A ninja might have 2-3 points in each individual rating section, with 5 points in intelligence, and go against someone with 4-5 points in every category with only a 2 or 3 under intelligence and win. Outside factors are also taken into account in terms of fights. This is merely where the fictional data-book says certain characters are in the Elemental Nations.

Shinobi Ranking System:
Academy Student (0-10) - E Rank:
Genin (10-20) - D Rank: The lowest possible rank for a shinobi, genin are typically teens fresh out of the academy, though there are exceptions of ninja either being unable to graduate to Chuunin due to a lack of drive or talent, or shinobi simply wishing to remain in that rank (ex. Kosuke Maruboshi). Genin are naturally forced to mature quickly and learn even quicker if they hope to survive the rugged and oftentimes unforgiving shinobi life, with most successfully moving on to be a chuunin within a year or so (the mandatory probation period is one year). As a three man squad typically led by a Jounin-sensei, genin deal with most of the villages D-missions, unless allowed to go on C-missions or higher with their instructor. All genin require at least one point on each of the basic shinobi fields (shown above) in order to graduate, showing a bare bones understanding of each field, what's required of them as shinobi, and a capacity for jutsu in general. While most genin tend to be around the same talent/power level after exiting the academy with the exception of a few clan trained individuals, the gap in ability from person to person greatly increases by the time the probation period has passed. This is a result of the individuals' personal drive, their various mission encounters, team balance, and the training they've received from their sensei's.
Chuunin (20-30) - C Rank: Chuunin tend to make up the majority of each hidden villages forces, as most shinobi unfortunately tend to die off during this stage, or simply linger without any outward progress in ability. Chuunin is the rank given to genin who have proven themselves capable of thinking with a level head under duress, trustworthy enough to lead others on missions, and apt at following orders without endangering others. Jobs consist of accompanying other chuunin and jounin on B or A-rank missions, civilian upkeep, border patrols, academy instructors, and solo C rank missions. Many shinobi tend to begin honing their elemental affinity during this period in the hopes of being promoted to a Tokubetsu Jounin or Jounin. It should also be noted that their skill varies widely from person to person, as many talented shinobi stagnate at their rank due to a lack of ambition or responsibility on their part, making them ill-suited for further promotion, though being more than credible as fighters after several years in the field.
