Slowly emerging from a slump in enthusiasm that sapped my output. I've been reading steadily in the Hogan's Heroes fandom since 2010 and writing intermittently beginning in 2014 and quite steadily since 2018. I still have a few stories I want to write and a few that I need to finish. (Several won't be reposted until I've finished them. They include Poker Face, Sparring Partners, Mismatched and Slippery Slope. A few older stories, including some complete ones, have been permanently discarded. A few can be found on AO3 as part of a story called A Land Fit for Heroes.)

I am committed to reviewing every work I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or its rating. I've been a prolific reviewer for years, and I may not review every story in great detail, but I do strive to leave a review every time I get to the end of a story, and often before that.

Most of my reading is in the Hogan's Heroes fandom, so if you write here and if I haven't read your work, feel free to ask me to do so. And if you write in another fandom and think I'd enjoy your work, I'm all ears! I have met wonderful people and found brilliant writers in several other fandoms.

I believe so strongly in reviewing because taking an interest in and engaging with one another's efforts is what has made this a vibrant community. Without the conversation around stories, ideas, and writing, it has been noticeably more dull around here for a year or more, and I find that extremely unfortunate. I think we can all change it by taking the time to leave even a few words of comment on stories we read. Reviews don't have to be flowery or full of praise. An honest reaction is all it takes!

I'm a frequent and willing beta editor, by which I mean more than proofreading -- I mean bringing a critical eye to what is and isn't working in a story, both from the perspective of plot and storytelling. In real life, I have worked 40 years as a writer and editor in newsrooms and corporate settings, and even with that amount of experience I seek the input of other writers and editors all the time. Everyone's work benefits from a second look. If my beta profile is inactive (which is sometimes is), don't hesitate to ask me to look at a story anyway.
