Important 1/13/2021: If you tried to send me a PM any time after 2016, and I didn't respond, it's highly likely that I never saw it. I've just been going back through my inbox, and the number of lovely messages I've received that I swear to God I never saw because I absolutely would have remembered and responded, was ridiculous. I will try to stay on top of things more going forward.

Before I introduce myself: The bulk of my work exists within the Harry Potter fandom, and I imagine it will continue to do so. I am a Hufflepuff through and through, and that is something in which I take immense pride. So, when I tell you that J.K. Rowling is not a feminist, and that I in no way support her bigotry, her actions, and am (putting it nicely) deeply disappointed in and angry with her, I hope I am making myself clear.

Hello! Welcome to this dusty old profile! (I think I've been here for about 10 years, but at this point I'm really not sure). When I created this account I had just seen the DW episode "The Idiot's Lantern" and thought the title of Detective Inspector had a great ring to it. Sydney was my great-grandfather's name, and he came from Sheffield, Yorkshire-so I just tacked that on at the end as an odd homage. (My 13 year old self clearly thought this was perfectly sensible *shrugs*.) He was always a fascinating figure to me, but he died decades before I was born.

I have several stories pending. And when I say pending, I mean they haven't been updated in quite a few years and they're still on my mind. I'll be the first to admit that I write for myself more than anything, and I have some pretty significant struggles with executive functioning, which never helps. All that said, unless a story says it's permanently discontinued (or it's a one shot), please understand that I have every intention of finishing it. (In my defense, those that are permanently discontinued only got that way because I lost all of my background work in a move and couldn't reconstruct them from memory.)

P.S. October, 2020- There used to be character descriptions here for the the NextGen Harry Potter characters, based in "A Time Turner for Christmas" (a story I wrote years ago.) I've decided I'd really like to take that fic apart and rework it, because I've grown as a writer. As such, I've removed the character descriptions, because they may or may not be relevant to the new version of this story that I'm hoping to start working on soon.
