Well, here goes nothing. I'm driftking18594. I currently live on a bankrupt little rock called Ireland. My username has followed me around ever since I thought I was on par with Bunta Fujiwara for drifting a mother-frickin' Peugeot in Need for Speed Underground 2, and that was back when I was something like 12 or 13. As you guessed from the above info, I'm also a car nut, especially when it comes to Japanese cars. However, where I live, people will look at you weirdly if you refer to an AE86 as a "Hachi-Roku", they usually prefer the term "Twin-Cam". Kinda generic, don't ya think? It could refer to any car with a DOHC engine configuration. (Yeah, I'm rambling, so sue me. :/ ) Creative writing has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. Fanfiction is just another outlet for me to vent my pent-up creativity. I'm still in secondary school, so I'm still in the process of learning how to write great stories.
I usually stick to racing games, especially the Gran Turismo series. I have written fanfics for Gran Turismo, all you need to do to read it is Google "hashiriya gtplanet" (a site where I spend around 50% of my online time). I also play a little bit of Need for Speed whenever I'm bored enough of Gran Turismo, I'm not too much of a GT fanboy to play Forza (it's just that an Xbox Live subscription is a little bit pricey), and I also play Grand Theft Auto. I must also confess, that I still buy Pokémon games. Which reminds me, my DS has been gathering dust for at least half a year!
TV shows (excluding anime):
I like CSI and all of its spin-offs (yes, even Miami - because Horatio's shades kick ass). I also like The Sopranos, Family Guy, South Park, Peep Show, Shameless, Fonejacker, American Dad, 24, Little Britain, Come Fly With Me, Top Gear, The Big Bang Theory and a crapload more which have escaped my mind right now.
P.S. The Simpsons, in my humble opinion, has gone stale in recent seasons. It relies too heavily on special guest stars. I've reached a point where I've been over-saturated with the classic episodes so much that it's basically lost most of its entertainment value for me.
I listen to a strange mix of music: on one hand, I listen to trance music, techno, drum 'n' bass - and then I also listen to rock music. I despise boy bands, Justin Bieber, pop "musicians" who claim that they're rappers (e.g. Taio Cruz - total ear rape...) and "musicians" who rely too much on auto-tune. At the same time, my favourite song is "Moon Over The Castle" (the Gran Turismo theme song). If I ruled the world (or at least was in charge of broadcasting any racing series, e.g. F1, BTCC, SuperGT, FIA GT, LMP racing), I'd use it for the opening video of any programme (sorry, die-hard fans of "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac).
I remember being a complete "Fast and the Furious" fanboy, LOL. That was back when I didn't look for a plot, I just looked for action. The "Fast and the Furious" series has fallen way down my list of favourite movies. My current favourite movie is "Inception" - I honestly believe that it is a total masterpiece. I'm surprised at the lack of crossovers between it and a certain mecha anime series. I also love the works of Quentin Tarantino, especially "Inglourious Basterds". Any movie which features Jews killing Nazis is an instant win for me. I also like "Kill Bill", and the recent James Bond movies. I also like Kick-Ass, Hancock, the Harry Potter series, Christopher Nolan's reboot of Batman, The Hangover (1 & 2) and many, many more movies.
P.S. - George Lucas, please stop raping Star Wars. Nuking fridges is also a big no-no for me. :(
Initial D was my "gateway" anime. Although it wasn't the first anime that I ever watched (the version of Pokémon that was raped by 4Kids holds that distinction), it was the first anime that I watched in a looooooooooooong time. Being a car nut, I was curious. It completely craps all over the "Fast and the Furious" series (especially since I doubt that Dodge Chargers can survive touge racing).
After finishing Initial D 4th Stage, another series caught my attention: the almighty Neon Genesis Evangelion. I was a little sceptical at first - I assumed that, from the name, it was produced by the Japanese equivalent of Billy Graham. (Can you say "anta baka?") I was completely wrong. I absolutely loved it. I can't stop thinking about it. Then again, my mind has a tendency to get obsessed over something, e.g. I couldn't stop thinking about Inception after seeing it. Even in German class, I get a mental image of Asuka next to a white board writing out sentences like "Misato ist Alkoholikerin" or "Shinji ist Dummkopf." I can't say that it is the best anime that I will ever watch, but it is the best among the few animes that I have watched so far.
After NGE, I watched Gurren Lagann. It was possibly the most manly anime that I've watched (besides, neither Simon nor Kamina were voiced by a chick, LOL), and it featured G-cup boobs :D. In all seriousness, I think Kamina should become a motivational speaker. However, it still hasn't made as big of an impact on my life as NGE has.
I'm currently trawling my way through an anime series which is the basis for an arcade game which has cost me at least €200 - Wangan Midnight. It's good enough, but I haven't finished it yet.
EDIT: Since I wrote my bit on WM, I've dropped it, you would understand if you too have seen it.
I'm now currently watching Steins;Gate, and it's a great show. I just hope that the word "nya~" doesn't put you off...
