Author has written 11 stories for Pokémon.
It’s far time I dusted this thing off, wouldn’t you say? :) I think most of this was, like, my original profile from 2000!
So then. Hi, everyone. I’m Spruceton Spook. :) You may remember me from half-a-decade ago when I regularly inundated this site with stories highlighting the adorableness of Ash Ketchum and the marvelous fun that is his hometown of Pallet. Well, I’m back (quite out of the blue, too—surprise!), and while much has changed personally for me over the years, and various fandoms have come and go, my love for Pokémon, and for Ash especially, is still going strong. It was only a matter of time before I made a reappearance, and with what else? Another lengthy, angsty, dramatic sequel to my most popular story “Stars Fell on Pallet Town.” Yay!
To rehash key bits of my old profile and supply a brief description of myself, I’m a silly little 30-year-old girl hailing from Long Island, New York (yes, I have quite a doozy of an accent!). My penname derives from a small town upstate called Spruceton, which I frequent quite often when I need to escape to a world of acceptable laziness, hilarious (but competitive) card games, and bottomless Bloody Marys. And the spook…well, I’m a fan of many things creepy scary (but NOT gory, tyvm!). I’m a Japanese horror movie aficionado, love exploring old graveyards, and am fascinated with abandoned houses. When I’m not working, I engage myself in my life-long passion of Thoroughbred horse racing as a freelance photographer. My other major fandom is Supernatural, which I’ll probably never write fic for in that I couldn’t possibly visualize thriving among some of these SPN authors, who are just scarily brilliant.
I don’t quite have the time and thought-flow I did when I wrote fic years ago, so updates for my new story, “Soon Begins Bewitching,” will not be as regular as past stories. Please be patient with me! :) I can only hope you will enjoy all the adventures (and crises) I’ll be putting our beloved Twerp Trio through in the coming months, and that any wait that may arise will be worth it. If there indeed happens to be a significant hiatus or snag in my writing process, I’ll let everyone know here. No need for anyone to be in the dark.
Many thanks to all my readers and supporters! It’s certainly great to be back. :)
Update 2/6/15: I am pleased and thrilled to announce that "Soon Begins Bewitching" is now COMPLETE! Thanks to all of my readers for your incredible support and patience! What a journey this has been!
