Author has written 5 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Lord of the Rings. 3-15-2003: My name is Laurie, and I want a falafel. 10-20-2009: Well, I'm back. 12-11-2015: My name is still Laurie, and I still want a falafel. 10-24-2021: It is ten o'clock in the morning, on October the 24th, and I'm here in the house of Laurie, eating a falafel. I actually cannot believe I've had this account for twenty years. As you can see above, I come and go in bursts. 5-1-2022: By the way I am starting to migrate over to AO3! My story Passion For Life will be over there as well, under the name Laurielu :) Projects: I originally published That Which We Have Loved in 2009 and completed it in early 2010. It's 39 chapters and I loved every minute of working on it, but it had tons of structural and stylistic problems. So in 2016 I took it down and started putting it back up, chapter by chapter. I only got through Chapter 18 before I burned out and had to work on other things in my life. But now I have nothing to do for except my stressful job for the next four months, so I think this is the perfect time to finish the revision! I'm also finally, for the first time ever, attempting a Lord of the Rings fanfic! It might be a while before I start to publish chapters, as I want the entire thing to be finished before I start publishing. It will be about eight chapters long, I'm on chapter three. :) Update: My LOTR fanfic is nearly done!! It's called Passion For Life and chapters are being posted weekly :) That's all my friends, whoever wanders to this profile page! :) My stories: That Which We Have Loved- (Zeldas I, II and IV) - Link is stranded on Koholint Island and must somehow find his way back to Hyrule. Zelda, in the meantime, has to keep her kingdom together under the increasing pressure of an unknown threat. And all the while, Link and Zelda have to cope with each others' absence. A sad, bittersweet, but hopefully triumphant story about the power of love and the inability of time and distance to diminish it. Originally written as an expansion of Letters, but has become so much more than that original story, and the ending is different too. :) Another Day- (Ocarina of Time) - This one has been a fun side project for me when That Which We Have Loved has gotten too overwhelming. It's a vignette looking at what life is like in a peaceful Hyrule after Link was sent back seven years in time after defeating Ganondorf. There may be peace in Hyrule, but is there peace in the hearts of its heroes? A bit sweet, sad and sentimental- but hopeful, as well. Enjoy! We'll Always Have Paris- (AU) - My first (and only) attempt at comedy. I've given up on finishing it but I'm keeping it just because it makes me giggle. If anyone has any ideas on how to finish it, let me know! Letters- (Zeldas I, II and IV) - This is the original version of That Which We Have Loved, which I wrote when I was 17. It's a letters-only version- there's no prose or action outside of what Link and Zelda write to each other. It's been revisited- the typos have been fixed, but stylistic problems haven't been fixed- I figure it's twenty years old, it's a relic! Anyway, wasn't that what the rewrite was for? :P Reviews are deeply appreciated. Thanks for visiting and love to all! |
