Despite the Angelic Look of my profile Picture I am old enough to be the father of Harry Potter and his compatriots. I believe I am in a way uniquely qualified to write about Harry Potter, a fact that would be obvious if you knew my real name, email address and family history.

Although I write mainly in canon or following canon as near as I can, I am an avid reader of fanfiction, mainly HP, and enjoy reading stories that do not follow the usual rules. But if a story is going to be AU or non canon, I prefer it if the characters are seen to be consistent with canon, suddenly revealing that MAJOR CHARACTER is part this creature or that does not appeal to me, these things have to be justified in the fiction, not just some plot point.

I have read several where Draco and Lucius Malfoy are part Veela, and judging by JKR's descriptions in the books and those of Fleur, this is one I can see as plausible, as I myself thought it when I read the books.

I particularly like stories that show other pairings for Harry and indeed have read ones that involve him with Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor students of both genders and particularly enjoy those that appeal to my sense of humour, and show differences in the Magical and Muggle worlds, especially Mpreg stories, although sometimes wish that authors would make Harry the 'Father' rather than the 'Mother' in these. It seems from most of the stories I have read that Harry becomes pregnant by said partner and I would love to read some where Harry is told that he has got said 'male character' pregnant as well, and is responsible for the child, etc.

Fred/Harry (don't feel comfortable as such with George/Harry unless it's Fred/George/Harry - sorry George).

Harry/Luna

Harry/Daphne

Harry/Hermione, can't write it to save my life, I feel there is more of a sibling bond between them. But saying that hae read some excellent fics with this pairing, try reading fics by Robst or old-crow for some good examples.

Not that happy with Harry/Ron - although I do enjoy Ron bashing as I feel he betrayed Harry too often in canon and was forgiven too easily.

Although I have read some Charlie/Harry, I feel Charlie is more of a dragophile, (lover of dragons - not that Charlie is about to get some dragon pregnant or vice versa; just too much interested in them) to form a lasting relationship - sorry Charlie.
