ONE MONTH TO GO! :D At the time of writing this (Dec 18), the official launch of the book I'm getting my first publication in is just one month away. I am lucky to have some very loyal readers on this site, and it would mean the world to me and all those involved if you can show your support. The book is titled 'Once: A selection of short short stories' edited by Linda Martin and Laura Keenan, published by Night Parrot Press. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Hope to be posting here again soon. Love you guys!
Hey, I'm Robyn. Welcome to my profile!
I'm 22, female and I'm a huge Disney fan! I'm also a massive romantic; love my fluff, love my grand romantic gestures, love my rom-coms, love reading and writing fluff... Anything romantic really... Anyhow, I was born in England, but moved to Western Australia with my parents when I was 8.
I'm currently studying Creative Writing, and Professional Writing & Publishing, at Curtin University, with the ultimate goal of becoming an author. My main genres are romance and fantasy, but I do dabble in other genres.
Important Notice for my Readers:
I’ve mentioned this in Author’s Notes many times, but since I know there are people who don’t read them, I felt I should put a full notice here for them and any new readers.
As my long-term readers know, my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when I was about 15. This, on its own, was hard, but we got by. However, in the years that followed, she spiralled down into early-onset dementia, to the point where my dad and I could no longer care for her. Best way I can explain it is I sort of became a ‘Cinderella’ to her; she took us and our care for granted, often verbally abused us, needed everyone to do everything for her. This wasn’t helped by the fact it took forever to get support, so we mostly had to do it alone.
She’s in residential care now, which is a huge relief for everyone, but essentially I am coming to terms with no longer having a mother. Now that I am also trying to complete my Creative Writing degree and work on my own writer's career while dealing with everything else as well, it will likely take at least a few weeks – or months – to update stories. I might not have much free time on my hands, but I refuse to sacrifice the level of passion I put into my work, so please try to be patient with me, and I promise I'll do my best to update as often as possible.
I've found many amazing authors on this site. But there are three people who's stories I would love for you to look at.
MrAndersIversen Both my first friend and one of my first followers on this site, Anders has been a great supporter in my writing for a long time, and has even helped me through some pretty hard times. I don't think he's active on here anymore, but he is still really good, and who don't like a surprise review now and again... (:
MrsAvanJogia As you'd expect, life as a carer was a daily struggle, and also very lonely. Avan and I have been friends for a good four years now, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon her fics. She may be on the opposite side of the world, but she's always there to listen when I need a friend. I flew over to see the final HTTYD movie with her, and it was one of the best times I've ever had. :D She's also a great writer; her How to Train Your Dragon fics are some of the best in my opinion. So any Hiccstrid shippers reading this, you know where to go. (;
Chaotic Reflections Chaotic's another of those girls I can always count on, and not just about Mum either. 'Fate is a Funny Thing' is, at this time, my most successful story yet, and I owe it partly to her. She's contributed to some of its best parts, and is also helping me in planning the sequel. Needless to say, you should definitely go check out her work. I'm unfamiliar with most of the fandoms she's written in, but her fic 'See Me Now' alone proves she belongs on this list. :)

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
