Poll: Which fanfiction should I write next? Vote Now!
Author has written 5 stories for Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Book Thief, and Alice in Wonderland.
And now: a list of stuff you didnt need to know but I'm telling you anyway. This is the part where I brag, right?
Hey all, my name is NerdiGirl, I'm 15, a sophomore in high school, and I am a self-proclaimed nerd. I love all books and a lot of movies. I'm not super into fandoms themselves (i feel like I would lose what little life I have), but I love taking an idea and putting my own spin on it, and I certainly love ideas that are already set into motion! I love Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Grimm, Elementary, Once Upon A Time, Harry Potter, stuff like that. I love fantasy places and ideals. However, I only write stuff that I know can be changed to adapt. See why I'm only a self-proclaimed nerd?
As you may have guessed, I am a girl. Congratulations to you.
If you scroll to the bottom, you will see that I have five works of writing posted: A Harry Potter Dramione oneshot Just once that I wrote in eighth grade (it's alright), a Book Thief oneshot The End that I wrote a little bit after that (a little better), an Alice In Wonderland oneshot, My Rose, Alice that I consider to be one of the best things I've ever written (no joke), a new Alice In Wonderlandand oneshot, My Dream, Your Reality that's kind of odd but I like, and a Peter Pan story called The Lost Girl. That last one is a little iffy. I started it when I first got this account two years ago, and I have changed so much in that time. I dropped the story the summer of 2012. Near the end of the summer of 2013, I decided to pick it up again. That story is undergoing a complete and total makeover. Read it now if you want, but stay tuned for the turnaround. It can only go up from here.
Note: Most of my stories are really not very good. I'm planning on rewriting the majority of them in 2014 (it's one of my resolutions.). Stay tuned.
Also, I am an inactive beta, mainly due to slacking and laziness. I honestly haven't been on in a year, other than to read stories and give comments. If you want me to beta your story after reading mine and talking to me and realizing what a cool cat I am, I'll consider it, but my work ethic isn't what you'd call strong. Sorry.
I love reading, writing, and singing. I'm pretty decent at dancing too, if I do say so myself: 9 years of tap and jazz, 6 years of hiphop, and 1 year of lyrical, not to mention musical theater choreography. I used to perform with the School of Rock (no, not the movie.). I am a songwriter (I play the piano) but I only have three songs I've written that I'm really proud of. I'm decent at the piano, I know chords and stuff, and I can translate chords into beats, but I'm not great at reading sheet music. I pretend like I can play the guitar. Hooray for google chords.
It's my dream to be either an author or a Broadway star. Maybe both. You never know! But I'm also interested in psychology. I still have a few years, so who knows what'll happen?
Outside of fanfiction (shocking, right?), I have written a few short stories, several poems, three songs (see the paragraph two above this one), and I have numerous unfinished novels. The farthest I've ever gotten on a novel is one I'm currently working on about a Romeo-and-Juliet-esque family feud, only it's with werewolves against faeries and (spoiler alert!) almost everyone dies except the Romeo and Juliet characters. It's currently about 60 pages handwritten. It's probably never going to get past that.
I LOVE movies. I will watch any movie from rom-com to cartoon to action to tragedy to sci-fi to superhero to murder to etc. etc. etc. Favorite movies (not in order): The Princess Bride, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Dead Poets Society, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, and Now You See Me. Most of them are classy 80's movies or include Morgan Freeman. The only thing I will not watch is horror. How do people like that stuff? It honestly disgusts me. Even commercials for movies like The Exorcist and The Awakening make me cover my eyes in a theater. I got nightmares from Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House when I was 10. Zombies? Fine. Demons? Okay, if in action. Vampires? Whatever. But if it's a ghost movie, count me OUT.
I also like sports. I play co-ed soccer, which makes working hard worth it, of you know what I mean ;) Baseball is cool, football is okay, golf is kinda boring, but I like watching basketball and playing soccer.
I'm currently taking Spanish II, so... Yo sé español un poco, pero no sé mucho español. Yo prefiero hablar en inglés. If that's even correct.
I like dogs and dolphins, but the blanket octopus is my favorite animal. Look it up.
I'm straight. In case you were wondering. I support homosexuality though, and believe that as long as people are honest about who they are, then they can be whatever they want to be. Except animals. People, honestly; you are never going to be cats or wolves or anything of that sort unless you believe in reincarnation. That's a fact.
I find politics really interesting. As a freshman, I took an AP World History course, and I loved it. It may have had something to do with the fact that my teacher was super lazy and never made us do anything, but whatever. I went to Model UN this year and it was really fun! It was really cool to be able to hang out with a bunch of kids who are committed to good learning and education and partying and stuff like that.
Also, I like to learn about religion.
Also, art. Even though I can't draw.
Actually, though. All of that is pretty good stuff. However, I'm here purely to write and read and meet fellow writers. So hey: if you're one, hit me up, read my reformed stories, send me yours, the whole shabang. Let's be friends, alright?
Oops. This was supposed to be brief. Oh well.
See y'all on the flip side.
It only goes up from here.
PS: Follow me on tumblr if you so choose @justemby. I write free verse poems for myself about my friends, my family, my life, and whatever creatively strikes me. If you don't like it, don't follow me, but check it out if you want.
