![]() Author has written 18 stories for Harry Potter. Hello, all! I've been a Harry Potter fan for years. I like canon stories, and AU stories where the people stay in character. Thanks go to my daughter, who beta'd my first fanfic, and my husband, who has beta'd most of the rest. What do I look for in a story? First and foremost, it must be well-written although if the author is not a native English speaker I can accept grammatical errors. I prefer intricately crafted stories, where something from early on plays a part in a later chapter, or where there are twists to the plot. However, a well-written, straight-forward story can also be a pleasure to read. If a story hasn't been updated in a year, I won't start it. Sorry, if you say you will never abandon a story but the last update was in 2011, I don't believe you. One major exception is the wonderful "Looking for Magic" by Hypnobarb. Fortunately, the story was almost complete when a family situation caused her to stop work on it; the final battle had already taken place. I hope eventually she writes the final four chapters she said she might, but in the meantime it can be enjoyed as is. Loten and Excessivelyperky, I eagerly look forward to your next story! My favorite character is Severus Snape. xxxxxxxx 16 May 2016 I'm doing a happy dance - I was just notified that I was able to purchase two of the stand-by tickets for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in August! While I'm sure Severus is still dead during the play, at least there's fan fiction ... 16 September 2016 The play was FANTASTIC. The book can't capture the drama. Great acting, great use special effects (which add to the play rather than becoming the focus of it), great scenery ... I hope Warner Brothers, which has taken out a movie option, does film it so more can enjoy the magic. xxxxxxxxx 3 April 2017 I just registered for the Harry Potter convention in Baltimore 8-10 September 2017. Any readers and/or other authors going? xxxxxxxxx 8 August 2017 Hurray - Excessivelyperky has begun to post "Widows' Walk," the sequel to "The Birthday Present." I'm sure it will be fantastic! xxxxxxxxx 27 August 2017 I'm going to be on two panels at Potterverse in September, one on fanfiction writing and another on Slytherin house. If you're there, please introduce yourself! xxxxxxxxx 12 February 2018 I've once again volunteered to moderate a panel on writing fan fiction at Potterverse, this year 17-19 August in Rockville, Maryland. The convention was great fun last year with everything from discussions on personality types of Hogwarts students to trivia contests. The costumes some people wore were fantastic. If you're in the area, I encourage you to go. If you do, please let me know and introduce yourself! xxxxxxxx 13 June 2018 Another happy dance - my daughter got us tickets to the Broadway version of Cursed Child for my birthday!!! xxxxxxxx Exciting news by lmk05: She's tentatively planning on writing a sequel to her thought-provoking work "Better Angels." xxxxxxxx 6 January 2020 I'm honored to say Jasmine de Roz has translated my ff story "Healing" into Russian and posted it on the largest Russian language website with fan fiction.
