Hello! Not much is to be said about me, but I appreciate your sudden interest in my profile.
I am not really new to this site anymore, but still, please bear with me.
I have created a FictionPress account, but have not posted anything yet. Here is the address, if, for whatever reason, should you want to click: http://www.fictionpress.com/u/815694/VocalDissonance
goals for this site:
-for one of my future stories to reach 100 reviews or more (i will be able to die happy)
-FOR WRITER'S BLOCK TO GO FAR, FAR AWAY...!
-write a vocaloid fanfic...eventually
(my) policies: (feel free to ignore them, just venting. nothing to see here, people, move along, thank you. you have been warned.)
-give credit where it is due: Really, when something or someone inspires you, the least you can do is thank them/it or mention them/it. You can even explain how they/it inspired you in your creative process. Don't plagiarize. Please. If a commercial inspired you, say so. If another story inspired you, say so. If the idea came to you while you were boxing on WiiSports while eating a bar of milk chocolate and hopping on one foot, just, please, say so. Erm... You get the idea.
-flames: ...are good only for baking cookies. Honestly, when you flame, you're being immature. You don't like something? Fine, don't read it. If you feel an urge to type out impurities, don't even come within ten feet of your keyboard. Well, unless the author wants you to flame or is okay or expecting it...that's a different story.
-grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and that kind of shiz: GEEZ. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE BETA-READERS. DON'T FLAME BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS. STORIES CAN STILL BE EDITED AND FIXED. IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.
-OCs: Generally, I'm okay with them, depending on their level of "hey guys look at me i saved your sorry butts from an inevitable death/event because i am always perfect and awesome like that durr". Too much "perfect and awesome", you're just asking for flames. In my opinion, the more realistic, the better.
-OCx-insertfamouscharacterhere-: Yeeaahh... Um, for me, when I read about a character, who I know and love, making out with another character, who I barely knew existed a few days/weeks ago, things start getting awkward for me. However, I feel the need to point out that, while I generally don't read this type of fanfiction, I have come across a few that are exceptionally well-written and portrayed beautifully, making it a pleasant read.
-time in a plot or story, character development: This is kind of my biggest pet-peeve, especially in romance fictions. Falling in love at first sight and suddenly getting hitched only to run off into the sunset three seconds later does not cut it. Only Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet can pull it off because it is the original; it's not cliché or cheesy. Anyway, a good romance story in general should take its sweet time, showing conflicting emotions and character development. Show the readers what true love is. Prove it. (Of course, I can't write a romance fanfic, or anything fluffy for that matter (definitely no lime or lemon, though I don't mind reading it) to save my life, so I'm in no position to speak. Just thought I'd get the idea out there, though.)
