Think of me as a lightning rod. I'm the metal pole, the bad guys are thunder and lightning. I guess you could say it's my job to draw their fire. You wanna take a potshot at this city, then you gotta go through me. What it is, see? It's a dance. Good versus evil is a dance across the sky, where no two patterns are ever the same. It's a thunderous lament, a bursting cloud of rage aimed at no one in particular but coming through me all the same. It's trying like mad not to shake as the foundations fall and half the city comes loose beneath me. That's me: standing tall in the face of the storm.
FAVORITE WORKS OF FICTION
Novels: All works of Stephen King (especially The Stand, It) and Neil Gaiman (especially Nevermore, Coraline and Good Omens), LoTR, and Discworld.
MARVEL: Personally, I’m a huge Marvel Comics fan. Favorite Marvel heroes are Spidey, Cap and Deadpool, and heroines are Emma Frost and Ms. Marvel. As for teams, I love the classic Avengers roster. Favorite villains are Doom, Venom, Magneto and Taskmaster. If you’ve noticed that those four guys have a tendency to be ambiguously heroic, yeah, I’ve a thing for characters like that.
Favorite Marvel series are: Stan Lee’s classic run on Spider-Man, JMS’ run on Spider-Man, Joe Kelly’s run on Deadpool, Kurt Busiek’s run on The Avengers, and Chris Claremont’s run on X-Men
Favorite Marvel storylines are: Secret Wars, Civil War (I know, I know, it sucked but it was kinda cool for me), Fear Itself, The Dark Phoenix Saga, Kraven’s Last Hunt, Avengers vs X-Men (another polarizing one, but the ending kind of made it great), Fear Itself, Mark Millar’s Marvel Knights: Spider-Man, Marvels, Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman
Currently reading/following: Dark Reign, Annihilation (and War of Kings and The Thanos Imperative, never was much of a fan of Cosmic Marvel, but they say these title were instant classics), Runaways, Infinity, Superior Spider-Man (fucking hate it; only reason I’m reading is what TVTropes refers to as Bile Fascination, and the fact that I don’t want there to be a gap in my Spidey books when Peter finally comes back), the new Marvel Knights: Spider-Man miniseries
Planning on reading: the new Journey Into Mystery (the one with Kid Loki)
Most hated books: OMD, BND and OMIT, obviously
DC: Not much of a DC fan, though I’m a huge Batman fan (it's Batman, reasons need not be justified, everyone likes Batman)and the Batfamily as a whole (with Dick and Steph as my fave Bat apprentices). I also like Zatanna, the Question (Vic Sage, don't really care much for Renee) and John Constantine (should I consider him DC?)
Favorite DC series: Grant Morrison’s entire run on Batman
Favorite DC storylines are: If I had to list them all individually, the list will be freaking long, and they’re mostly Batman titles. Let’s just say every major Batman story ever made after the Silver Age EXCEPT All-Star Batman and Robin, with special mention to The Dark Knight Returns, Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? by Neil Gaiman, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, and Batman: Year One.
Non-Batman: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kingdom Come
Currently reading/following: Scott Snyder’s Batman run, Justice League Dark
Non-DC/Marvel comics: the current MLP books based on Friendship is Magic, Sandman (though they are DC, I guess), Hellboy, Sin City
Video Games: Resident Evil series, Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age series, Pokemon (especially Gen IV), Final Fantasy VII and X, Ace attorney (obviously), MvC2 and 3, Soulcalibur, Street Fighter, Tekken, the Batman Arkham series
Favorite company: Bioware, Capcom
Anime and Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Shingeki no Kyojin, Naruto, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama!, Oreimo, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Anohana, Tengen Toppan Gurenn Lagann
Currently watching: Kill la Kill, Coppelion, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night, Kara no Kyokai
Currently reading: Naruto, Shingeki no Kyojin, To-LOVE-Ru! Darkness (I read for the art. Honest to God, I do)
Western Animation: My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Adventure Time, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Animaniacs
Live-Action Shows: Sherlock, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, How I Met Your Mother, Seinfield
Only have one story as of the moment, but I’m writing more in my spare time. Still planning on whether I should post them or not, especially since I’m not good with updating Turnabout regularly.
The story of Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, and a host of other colorful characters from Marvel and Capcom in epic struggle for the fate of two—no, wait, actually it’s more like ‘for the fate of everything that exists’. Basically, that’s the bare bones of it all, though a darker and deeper conspiracy runs deep underneath it. Planning on introducing more characters who didn’t make the cut to MvC3 or UMvC3, as long as they’re integral to the plot, and as long as it doesn’t get too crowded.
Official synopsis: “Even when facing insurmountable odds, only one lawyer can take the most hopeless of cases and claim victory by turning it on its head. But what happens when defense attorney Phoenix Wright, and his paralegal Maya Fey, suddenly find themselves amongst mercenaries, superhumans, demons, gods, universe-destroying entities and a gun-toting raccoon? The case of a lifetime.”
