![]() Author has written 33 stories for Thunderbirds, X-Files, Batman, and Young Justice. I am a librarian and have been a fan of Batman and Robin from the time I was five years old. I especially love the fact that Barbara Gordon is a librarian and a super-hero, hence the avatar I've chosen. I'm interested in a variety of genres, have written extensively in X-Files (archived at the Gossamer Project as Xenith) and am currently writing stories in the Batman, Nightwing, Young Justice and Thunderbirds genres. My manifesto: Batman/NW/YJ Universe--We're a year in and I don't like the New-52. Not at all. So now hear this--All stories I write, even those based on the New-52 will contain and depend on continuity from the original series. Why? I don't think the New-52 origin stories, characterizations or continuity will stick. People LIKE Bruce, Dick, Tim, Alfred just the way they were. Jason is the only character that got better in the New 52. There are 80 years worth of continuity diametrically opposed to the current editorial dogma and I think those 80 years will inevitably win out. So, I am taking a fan-fic writer's prerogative and writing to please myself (as well as most of my readers). Thunderbirds Universe: I grew up watching the Thunderbirds on t.v. I am American, as are the characters on the series. Therefore my characters will act, eat, live and, most importantly, TALK like Americans. I will not use British dialect, cusswords or slang but will always portray them as Americans. Sorry, but this is my biggest gripe, that much of the fan-fiction isn't true to the characters as originally conceived. I will also write using the only canon generally available to all Thunderbirds audiences, i.e. the show. Not the comics, books or any other writings because they weren't and aren't available to the rest of us. And I love to hear from my readers, so please do send reviews even if I wrote the story years ago. I do send thank you notes. 2017 Update: I haven't written much lately because of ongoing carpal tunnel problems and some writers' block. I have one pending story (Forever Evil) that I swear(!) I will finish, but the spark hasn't hit me so anything I would produce would be crap. I just have to wait for it. I've had surgery to my right wrist and am recovering pretty well. The left wrist is pending in a year or so. Oddly, I can type just fine, it's using the mouse that hurts! not to mention using door keys and opening jar lids. Also a note for "I Am a Difference Maker"--I'd have PM'd you but it's disabled on your account. So-to answer your question--Yes, I have long wanted to write a sequel to "Turning Point" and it's been haunting me for some time but I didn't think anyone would be interested in it. The story was popular enough while I was writing it, but it hasn't been heavily praised. Still--the Devil has his Eye on Dick Grayson and it would be interesting to find out what would happen if both Bruce and Dick were forewarned about Bruce's 'death' and Dick's being Batman for a year... Got to say, nothing in the current DC reality is half as interesting as those old stories by Morrison. And a note to those who are still discovering my stories--I still love feedback!!! Whenever anyone favorites an old story, I see the note and grin. I do send thank you notes to anyone who takes the time to review me as well. So keep the e-mails coming!!! |
