After a long, long debate with myself, I've decided to completely rewrite The Lost Boys. If this upsets you even in the slightest, please, before telling me how much you hate me, consider how it makes me feel. I had the idea for this story since before I was 17. I am now 21, and nowhere near close to telling it the way I've always wanted to. The things Past-Me wrote don't feel right to Present-Me, someone who is much more comfortable in her skin and decisions that she ever was before. Upon re-reading the story, which I haven't done in years, I realized there is too much going on. When writing a story, you want to remove anything that doesn't make sense or furthers the plot (i.e.: filler chapters), and the characters ended up taking too much liberty and creating stories for themselves that I couldn't finish for them. I want this to be a serious piece of work. I want to make some sort of an impact in this fandom. I want to prove to myself that I am capable of writing something that matters, and then maybe I'll be able to write another something that's my own. Rewriting almost 50 chapters of something that I'd already had out there is going to be a pain, and at some points, I'm sure I will want to quit and forget all about it. But I'm determined, and I would love it if you would all like to join this journey with me. Some things will stay the same, but others will change. I hope you can find it in yourself to cheer everyone on, even though you may already know what's going to happen. Please continue to tell me what it is you want to see in the future, but leave any negative comments about the concept of the rewrite at the door. This is as hard for me as it is for you.
There will most likely be no updates until I can at least get about 5 chapters behind me, and as I want to get things situated first, I'm not sure when that will be. Please stay tuned. xx
