"This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety. He is my God, and I trust Him." -Psalms 91:2
"Let other pens dwell on guilt and misery." -Jane Austen.
"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." -Ray Bradbury.
"If you wish to be a writer, write." -Epictetus.
"Seduce my mind and you can have my body. Find my soul and I'm yours forever." -Anonymous.
"Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing. He grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day." -Ernest Hemingway.
"Harry Potter is all about confronting fears, finding inner strength, and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend." - Stephen King.
"Better to write for the self and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self." -Cyril Connolly.
"If I didn't have writing, I would be running down the street hurling grenades in people's faces." -Paul Fussel.
"That moment when you finish a book, look around, and realize that everyone is just carrying on with their lives as though you didn't just experience emotional trauma at the hands of a paperback." -Unknown.
"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, it's jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame. Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned." -Song of Solomon 8:6-7.
"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid." -Northanger Abbey, Jane Austen.
"Heart is what drives us and determines our fate. That is what I need for characters in my books: a passionate heart. I need mavericks, dissidents, adventurers, outsiders and rebels, who ask questions, bend the rules, and take risks." -Isabel Allende.
"For a true writer each book should be a new beginning where he tries again for something that is beyond attainment. He should always try for something that has never been done or that others have tried and failed. Then sometimes, with great luck, he will succeed. How simple the writing of literature would be if it were only necessary to write in another way what has been well written. It is because we have had such great writers in the past that a writer is driven far out past where he can go, out to where no one can help him." -Ernest Hemingway.
"I always let the characters guide the stories. They really let me know what they want to say and what action they want to happen." -Ellen Schreiber.
"A writer should write what he has to say and not speak it." -Ernest Hemingway.
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
"It matters not how strait the gate,
"A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I, or are the others crazy?" -Albert Einstein.
"Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others He has redeemed you from your enemies." -Psalms 107:2
"Trust my rage." -Loki.
Favorite Book Quotes:
Arthur Darling: "Remove your hat in the presence of your superiors."
"Twice in the same week my own father seeks me out! If I started a war, would you invite me home for Boxing Day, Father?" -James Matthew, Capt. Hook, JV Hart.
Arthur Darling: "Then you must know William Tell was a far better swordsman than he was an archer."
Blood: "I'll have you charged with mutiny!"
"My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram, or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. But I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation." -Sherlock Holmes, The Sign of the Four, Arthur Conan Doyle.
"Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." -Sherlock Holmes, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Arthur Conan Doyle.
"Was there any more wretched existence than the life of a writer who had run out of words?" - Inkdeath, Cornelia Funke.
"It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well." Albus Dumbledore, The Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling.
"After all this time?"
"Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are." -Sirius Black, The Order of the Phoenix, J.K. Rowling.
"The man of taste explained very well how a piece could have some interest, and almost no merit, he proved in a few words that it was not enough to introduce one or two of those situations which one finds in all romances, and which always seduce the spectator, but that it was necessary to be new without being odd, often sublime and always natural, to know the human heart and make it speak; to be a great poet without allowing any person in the piece to appear to be a poet, to know language perfectly - to speak it with purity, with continuous harmony and without rhythm ever taking anything from sense.
Starcrier's Top Ten Most Attractive Actors of All Time
1). Tom Hiddleston. Honestly people, if I have to even explain to you why his gorgeous face is number one on this list, then we can't be friends. As some of you may have guessed, I am a proud member of Loki's Army.
2). Cillian Murphy. You may or may not know him as the man who played Jonathan Crane in the Dark Knight series, or, if you're into obscure Wes Craven films, this is the man who played Jackson Rippner in Red Eye. His eyes have no equal. (See also: In Time or Inception.)
3). Benedict Cumberbatch. Eyes, cheekbones, hair; the man has it all. He's also British, and plays the wonderful detective Sherlock Holmes on BBC in his spare time. Plus also, you can't have a name like that and not be lovely. Seriously.
4). Robert Downey Jr. The man has aged very well, and his sarcasm and wit add an attractive quality that goes beyond the physical. Tony Stark forever!
5). Johnny Depp. Again, another man that looks extremely attractive despite his getting on in years. Once you sell your soul to Tim Burton, you do not age. (For another example, see the lovely Helena Bonham Carter.) My first experience with Depp was his role in Pirates of the Caribbean, and, honestly, everything I've seen with him in it since then has been fabulous. This man was my first major celebrity crush.
6). Ben Whishaw. I haven't seen much of his work, actually, but I took one look at him as "Q" in Skyfall and instantly fell in love. His eyes and face remind me a lot of Cillian Murphy, coincidentally, which might be why he's been made six on this list.
7). Matthew Gray Gubler. He might be one of the younger actors on this list, but his work as Dr. Spencer Reid on the TV show Criminal Minds is unparalleled. His hair, which varies season to season, is wonderful. Seriously. The man is beautiful. Also, he played the voice of Simon Seville, for any of you Alvin and the Chipmunks fans out there, and did a remarkable job in 500 Days of Summer.
8). Daniel Radcliffe. It killed me to place him so low on the list, but it was unavoidable. I love his face. There is just nothing more to be said. Also, if you don't like Harry Potter's character, then you're doing it wrong.
9). Jude Law. Another man I hated to rank so low. His work as John Watson in the Sherlock Holmes series was brilliant, and his voice has a certain Hiddleston-like quality that I adore (i.e. "Pitch" in Rise of the Guardians). His eyes are pretty. :D
10). Ewan MacGregor. Obi-Wan Kenobi. End of story.
Ships: (Does not include any m/m or f/f, that's not my slice of cake, apologies. OC's are the best!)
Current OTP(s): RumBelle. Seriously too cute for words. :) I also adore Snape/Lily, whom I ship almost unrealistically hard. (This doesn't mean I don't like James or the Marauders. I love the Marauders, except for Peter Pettigrew, whom I want to toss off a cliff, but I digress.) SHERLOLLY LIVES, and 9/ROSE FOREVER.
Peter Pan: Hook/Adult!Wendy
Phantom of the Opera: Erik/Christine. Raoul can go die. :)
Labyrinth: Jareth/Sarah (duh!)
Avengers: Loki/OC, Loki/Natasha, Clint/Natasha, Steve/Natasha, Bruce/OC, Bruce/Darcy, Tony/OC, Tony/Pepper.
Thor: Loki/Darcy, Loki/OC, possibly Loki/Jane, Thor/Jane.
Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises: Bruce/OC, Bruce/Rachel, Crane/Rachel, Crane/OC, Joker/OC, Bane/OC, Bane/Talia.
Star Wars: There are entirely too many of these. Love OC's, particularly paired with Darth Maul and Boba Fett, for some odd reason.
Star Trek: Spock/Uhura, Spock/OC, Kahn/OC, Bones/OC.
Alice in Wonderland: Stayne/Alice (Take thy judgements elsewhere, reader!) and Hatter/Alice.
Red Eye: Jackson/Lisa. (again, duh!)
Sherlock: Sherlock/OC, Sherlock/Molly, Molly/Moriarty, John/Mary.
Doctor Who: *clears throat* 9/ROSE!!!! Also, 10/Rose, MetaDoctor/Rose, 11/River Song.
Once Upon a Time: Rumpelstiltskin/Belle, because they make me feel the feelings. Captain Swann is also yummy.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Ahsoka/Rex, Ahsoka/Bane, Ahsoka/Lux, Obi-Wan/Satine.
Lie to Me: Cal/Gillian, all the way!
Criminal Minds: Hotch/Prentiss, JJ/Rossi, JJ/Hotch, Morgan/Garcia, Reid/OC, Reid/Maeve. Beth and Will are not my favorite people. Like, at all. Blake can go away.
Leverage: Parker/Elliot, Nate/Sophie.
Grimm: Captain Renard/Juliette, Captain Renard/OC.
Ultimate Spiderman: Iron Fist/White Tiger.
Harry Potter: Snape/Lily forever! Also, Snape/OC, Sirius/OC, George/OC, Lupin/OC, Lupin/Tonks, Draco/Ginny, Lucius/Lily, Lily/James, Harry/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, Neville/Luna. I've also played around with BellaMort in the past.
I frequently name (and shout at) inanimate objects, as well as talk to myself and act out the stories I'm writing to get the full effect. I'm as crazy as they come.
I'm a Christian and proud of it, but I won't judge you if your beliefs differ from mine. I may not agree with you, but, since I'm not God and in no position to judge, I won't. Keep it clean, and we'll get along swimmingly. Also, if you're in need of prayer about anything or just want to talk, my inbox is always open.
I've been writing since I could hold a pen, but I'm not perfect. Constructive criticism is appreciated due to my lack of experience, but flames will be used to roast live bunnies, so consider your options carefully. Reviews make the world go 'round. :D
You may have noticed that I'm a fan of the darker and odder pairings, because bad guys all deserve a little love. Main protagonists bore me. A few of my fave baddies are: Loki, Rumpelstiltskin, Kahn, Captain Hook, (Most emphatically NOT the Disney version, Jason Isaacs or nothing), Erik (Phantom of the Opera), Jareth, Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane, The Joker, Pitch Black (Rise of the Guardians), Cad Bane, Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape (does he count as a baddie?), Darth Maul, Jackson Rippner, Illosovic Stayne, and Jim Moriarty, as long as it's the Sherlock version. :) I'm kinda meh when it comes to Nolan's Bane, but I am shamelessly in love with Thrax from Osmosis Jones.
I own pens in every color of the rainbow (except yellow), a fluffy pink bathrobe, a variety of assorted paperweights, a laptop named Razi, and my OCs. I do not, however, own any of the stories I write for. Otherwise, you'd be writing disclaimers for me, and not the other way around. And hey, who knows? That just might happen someday. ;)
...that seems to be about it. Anyways, read and enjoy!
