Author has written 4 stories for Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, and Oliver & Company.
No worries. No cares. DodgerNYC.
Hiya, everyone. I write fanfiction for my favorite Disney movies, but I'm only able to write in my spare time. I've also got some original stories in the works, and I'm hoping to publish them one day. My favorite Disney movies include The Lion King, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, Mulan, Hercules, Aladdin, Oliver & Company, Brave, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Lady and the Tramp, Treasure Planet, Zootopia, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and more. Any fanfic I write will likely be for one of them.
I have a Tumblr blog titled Disney & Company, username DodgerNYC, where I reblog pictures and gifs from my favorite Disney, as well as chapter updates for my fanfics. You can find me on DeviantArt, also under DodgerNYC, where I have some Oliver & Company fan art alongside some nice commissions from WickedlyRita. She writes Oliver & Company fanfiction herself, which center on Rita. And my sister TheBandragonness writes fanfics for everything from Frozen to Sypro the Dragon.
Most characters are the property of The Walt Disney Company. Any original character is mine, and I don't permit OC usage.
Dodger & Company (for Oliver & Company) *COMPLETE*
This is my main story, and easily the lengthiest. Set at the end of the 1980's, this fanfic takes place shortly after the movie, and it's all about Dodger. The original idea I had for this story was to explore how Dodger adjusts to life without Oliver, which leads to him missing the kid, being moody, and getting angry at the gang (whom I've named the Company—feel free to use that). Flashbacks are also used to show how Dodger grew up on the streets. Dodger & Company is told in three parts.
PART ONE: MOVIN' OUT — The premise of the story is that Dodger quits the gang and is taken in by Oliver's family, the Foxworths. By having Dodger quit, it gave me room to develop Rita's character by having her lead the Company. She is the most rational, after all. The true conflict comes when mobsters with ties to Sykes threaten Fagin for the money that he never repaid. Disney strongly implied mob connections, so I wanted to use that. This was originally a standalone titled Departure.
PART TWO: STREETLIFE — I wrote a sequel to Departure called Streetlife, and the larger Dodger & Company story expanded from there. The middle part of this fanfic has the Kings, a dog gang introduced in Part One, start stealing city territory from other gangs. The mystery is that those gangs start to suspect that Dodger, who wants to help them, is actually a spy for the Kings. There are several twists and turns, like who's the leader of the Kings, and who sold out the Company to them.
PART THREE: GANG WAR — The conclusion to everything. The Kings and the Refugees finally erupt into a gang war across Manhattan, and not everyone will survive. This shows how Dodger joined up with Fagin, reveals what becomes of the Company, and sees everyone's lives—especially Dodger's—changed for good.
Three of my OC dogs (Dodger's old buddy Charl, new girl Nancy, and Noah the bully) are adaptations of Oliver Twist characters. But most of my characters (Annie, Duke, Skippy Dawg, Ruscoe, Razor, Adena, Mr. and Mrs. Foxworth) are completely my own. Or in the case of Jenny's parents, actually used in the story.
Sleeping with the City (for Oliver & Company) *IN PROGRESS*
A while ago, a fan asked me to write a humanized version of Oliver & Company, and I finally decided to do it. But I'm gonna go hardcore. Since this will be a story about poor young people fighting to survive in the NYC of the 1980's, it will feature sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence that make it rated MA, not suitable for kids looking for a Disney fanfic. There will also be elements from Charles Dicken's novel Oliver Twist, as well as from my Dodger & Company fanfic. This story will have a large LGBT focus.
NYC in the 80's was defined by it's crime and drug problems. Homelessness ran rampant, and during this decade, the city—the whole country—was suffering the AIDS epidemic, especially the gay community. Crack cocaine was another problem, along with the racism and sexism of the day. Dodger, Charl, Rita, Tito, Nancy, and Oliver are the youth who have grown up in this despondent culture. This story will also explore mental health issues among the poor, and everyone is damaged in their own way.
Legends of the Lion Kings (for The Lion King/The Lion Guard) *WILL REVISE*
A collection of Lion King stories that spans generations. Kings and queens of the past, friendship and betrayal, and even a bit of African folklore play into this fanfic. The stories begin with Mohatu, king at a young age, then tell the tale of his daughters, proud Uru and her quiet sister Ara, and the rogue lion Uru meets. Then there's two royal brothers, Mufasa and Taka, one to be the Lion King and the other the Lion Guard. Things don't go as planned. After Simba's return, he and Nala have a lonely son named Kopa. And yet when Kiara and Kion are born, there are no paintings, no talk, no mention of the brother they never knew they had. Finally, Simba's rule is coming to an end, but he and Kovu will be met with one last challenge—an old lion everyone believed to be dead. These are the tales of the Pridelands.
A rough draft of this fanfic is available to read, but I intend to revise it all one day. Right now, the stories are told out of order, which I did to create a "piecing the puzzle together" type of story. Now I think I'll just redo it in chronological order, which will probably flow better. I'm also going to be referencing The Lion Guard, mainly to show Scar when he was leader of the guard—the Fiercest—and what exactly went wrong. I'll also be adding a finale set after The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.
Lady and the Tramp III: Family Troubles ( for Lady and the Tramp) *COMPLETE*
This is my idea for a third movie to properly finish the tale of Lady, Tramp, the pups, and Buster. The story opens with Angel fearing that her newest home won't work out. She receives a surprise visit from Peg, who is revealed as Angel's mother. I got this idea from a fan several years ago and loved it so much I had to use it (I hope it becomes widely accepted). This results in Angel running away with her mom, Scamp gone after her, and Tramp chasing after him. But back home, Lady doesn't know why Tramp left and worries he's returned to life as a street dog. Buster wants to get even for the Tramp ditching him for some prissy girl. That is until he lays eyes on said prissy girl. With their happy family falling apart, can Lady and the Tramp make things right again?
