I wrote fanfic on this site from 2003-2004, only stopping back to make a couple of edits in 2005. Times changed and I had much less free time to spend an enormous amount of time making up stories about things I felt unfinished. My tastes changed and the stories I did have in my head seemed less important to tell.

I did leave at least one fic unfinished - Silent Strength, which I began writing almost ten years ago - and I've been thinking about giving it a rewrite and finally figuring out where the story was going. I'm not comfortable with the characterization because they feel too much like caricatures and I'm unhappy with where I left it because I think it was wandering. I had no idea where exactly I wanted it to stop. That's a problem sort of inherent to fic writing, though: you're writing it because you felt the story unfinished, so where do you finish your own?

And yet I still get a review every once in a while and it makes me wonder if I should finally finish it, or try writing again. I'm not very good at dialogue, probably because I write like I speak, but I think I'd like to at least finish the one story.
