![]() Regarding novels and stories I have read often involving humans and Gods and other beings. There's always been a sort of wish among people that humans are infinitely capable of growth and progression, whether it be in power or mental advances (such as advanced technology or magic seeing as we are in this setting). Why is it that Human Gods are not capable of that same goal that humans seem to see themselves embody? If humans could ascend to become Gods, why cannot Gods Ascend to become...High Gods? Titans? Primordial Gods? Primordial Titans? Even if Gods are born powerful. that doesn't mean that they should be automatically made to forever stagnate. Humans are born weak and feeble and we as a species advanced. Is it some sort of innate sense of human superiority? Not likely. I think it's the need to be important that creates this sort situation where humans start low and gain all the advantages and others start high and stagnate. It's just not fun. Regarding people's obsession with their MCs (Main Character) being "sleek" or "wiry" or other derivatives. Big does not mean "slow", or "dumb", or "clumsy", etc. I've seen the vast majority of fics where "lean", "wiry", "sleek" or even "petite" for females are the desired form and I'm here like, "If a lanky motherfucker can be extremely strong and tough, why can't a big guy be smart, fast and flexible?" People always seem to favour the little guys in their fics, so much so that it is actually extremely cliche. In stories, it is actually the little guy who wins at EVERYTHING. People are sizeist. This is sizeism. And you guys need to be aware of it. Emiya Shirou the Extremist I don't like Emiya Shirou. He is too extreme for my taste, even the most mild versions of him in ffnet. He is...one dimensional. I dislike that. I'd rather read something about him dying constantly. And maybe just one PERMANENT death. |
