About Me: I'm one of those nerdy chicks. I've read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings (and those happen to be my favorite movies, can't wait for the Hobbit to come out in December), I love video and computer games (especially role-playing, Zelda, and Mario games), and I can understand 99% of the jokes on The Big Bang Theory. I think my nerdiness comes from having four older brothers (also nerdy) that were largely involved in my life as I was growing up. In fact, I think my nerdiness is part of the reason that I'm 21 and have yet to have my first boyfriend (but don't feel bad for me--it'll happen when it's supposed to happen).
Writing is both my passion and my escape. It allows me to control my world, so to speak, and that means I can forget whatever is bothering me or stressing me out at the moment. Reading does the same, but it takes a little longer to lose myself that way. What I mean is this: when I write, it takes only a minute or two to forget my problems. When I read it takes a while to get to the point at which the words on the page don't really exist anymore; they become merely the literal projection of the images, thoughts, and feelings that are in my head.
While I am truly interested in being a high school English teacher, what I want more than anything (career-wise) is to be an author. I have practically an entire book series in my head. Now I just have to get it on paper and find someone who'll publish it for me. ; )
Also, I'm generally an insecure kind of person--having my skills reaffirmed to me through reviews, favorites, alerts, and that kind of thing seriously makes me feel incredible. To know that my writing style and the expression of my imagination appeals to others is the greatest feeling in the world.
