Author has written 8 stories for Thunderbirds, and Star Trek: 2009.
Okay, so I had a look at my profile which i wrote in March of last year and was maybe a little bit sparse on the details. Whilst I am still working on my first story - lord knows I don't start small - i have successfully finished some fics (although not as many as I would like).
So, what to say about me? I am in my 20s, live in the south of England and never has as much time for writing as I would like.
I love reading, astronomy and history. I am a Greek myth nerd, and specialised in Greek Art and Architecture for a while before I went back to Uni to do a higher qualification in other things and I, even now, dabble in a lot of subjects too. I have never taken any classes in writing, it is just something I do when I am stressed; i think for me it spoil some of the magic of writing to be told how to do it. It would probably do me good but eh, you guys seem to enjoy my style just fine :). I genuinely believe that you should never stop learning and there is always more to see, learn and do.
I struggle to focus on things, I have zero concentration, and my mind is always going in more than one direction at once. This is where most of my fic ideas come from. If I try to sit down and plan something then nothing happens, but the minute I try to do something else my brain seems to come alive (damn contrary thing).
I like quotes, I find them really inspiring, so be prepared that they will sneak in almost everywhere no matter what I do! :)
Music also drives me - it is the only thing that really helps me focus. It is like my mind has to be doing two things at once, but music can keep it occupied and allow me a least a couple of minutes of peace and quiet to concentrate on things. Music will probably end up being a big theme is some of my fics (and - spoiler - but some more than others) as I think that music inspires something in all of us. Lyrics somehow don't seem to have as much depth or feeling without the music to go with them.
So, I can't really think of anything else to add about me for the time being but I am sure that this will change! :)
The fics then... what to say. I actually came through FF though Supernatural which I utterly adore (Dean girl and proud!) - I did try having a go at SPN fic of my own, but I'll be honest it wasn't that great and it will probably never make it to the site (so it is kind of mean of me to mention it and leave you wondering but there we go) and then fell in love the Thunderbirds fandom, almost accidentally.
I have been writing for many years on a number of subjects and the Thunderbirds stirred something within me. I can't really talk about what I studied at University (the second time round), mainly because it is kinda gross and no one overly wants to hear about it - but part of it was the practicalities of dealing with the aftermath of disasters in terms of humanity. This covers natural disasters, transport accidents and terrorist attacks. What I was studying was so important. Even years later it is possible to free an innocent man or condemn a guilty one. You only have to look for it, in the evidence that is left behind, and the victims, and their families deserve more than what they get more often than now. It is a hard job and it takes it toll and it always sat badly with me to only be reactive and never proactive. It would be so amazing to stop these events from happening, not just deal with the aftermath. And that is when the Thunderbirds gave me some peace. It may just be a dream by one genius man, but it is a beautiful thing. What would the world be like, how many human lives could be saved, if someone with the means, money and motivation offered the lives of his own children to save thousand of others who would otherwise of had no hope and just been nothing more than a stastic to the system. So there we go. This is why even though I wander freely though many other fandoms, I will always return back to the Thunderbirds. Okay deep stuff over!
All of my Thunderbird fics are Movie Verse and part of the same Universe. I have planned some AUs and TV fics but they are all still a work in progress.
The order (in terms of timeline) to my Thunderbirds fics is:
3. Starlight Starbright
4. Stormy Lullaby
5. Dreaming of Butterflies
6. Edge of a Cliff
To an extent they can be read in whatever order you like, the only thing that I would advise is to read Heartbeats before Alone, but other than that they are all relatively stand alone, even if they are part of the same universe. I do have other fics planned that chronologically fall between some of them (namely 2&3, 3&4 and 5&6) so the listings will change (if I ever get time to just sit down and write something - I have this terrible habit of writings ending first).
Other Fandoms you may find me in Star Trek 2009, Ninja Turtles and maybe eventually The Avengers.
I particularly adore kid fics and anything within the hurt/comfort genre. I like happy endings where everything is all tied up nicely. I don't like death fics - I cry like a little girl.
I adore reviews (who doesn't) for they are my digital manna, falling from on-high to my inbox! I also find it easier to keep writing with you wonderfully supportive people nudging me! :) I do try and personally reply to everyone, because I want you to know how much the support means to me, and also if you guys have taken the time to tell me what you think, i try and have the decency to individually thank you for it. Some times, though, life gets on top of me a little, so if you don't get a reply I am sorry but I promise I do read (and love) every single review.
I also like requests, so if anyone wants something feel free to PM me and I will have a go - but be warned you may have to wait a while! :)
I think that is all for now! I hope you enjoy enough to review but follows and favourites make me feel warm and happy too!
