And at last I resolved to scale that tower, fall though I might; since it was better to glimpse the sky and perish, than to live without ever beholding day.

So... what can I say? Well, I can certainly say a lot. Of course now all I hear is crickets.
I started writing Harry Potter fan fiction because Bellatrix Lestrange told me to. We were having cocktails one evening while giving mudbloods lobotomies, and she says to me, "Dragon... you should totally write fan fiction." I looked at her like she had two heads. She actually did have two heads that night due to a well aimed curse, and it was a bit unnerving. "Why?" I asked, trying desperately not to stare. Her extra head started to hum the Indiana Jones theme music, and I couldn't help but be distracted. Bella smacked her cranial doppelganger and the off key rendition ceased. "I think you should write fan fiction because the world needs your brilliance." I wasn't sure how to react. One, because I wasn't sure which head was the real Bella, and two, the Indiana Jones theme song was now stuck in my head. "Well," I said, giving the ice pick a little tap, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt."
And that, my friends, is how I began my lucrative fan fiction career.
