Neville: Let me get this straight, Professor, you're actually giving us permission to do this?
McGonagall: That is correct, Longbottom.
Neville: To blow it up? Boom
Neville: Wicked! How on Earth are we going to do that?
McGonagall: Why don't you confer with Mr Finnigan? As I recall, he has a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics.
Seamus: I can bring her down!
McGonagall: That's the spirit. Off you go.
- Deathly Hallows, Part 2 :P
Favourite HP book: Prisoner of Azkaban! :)
Least favourite HP book: Half-Blood Prince and Chambers of Secrets
Favourite HP film: Prisoner of Azkaban. I have a slight obsession with Book 3 (:
Least Favourite HP film: Chambers of Secrets or Half-Blood Prince. Yeah, I'm not too keen on Book 2 & 6.
I promise to remember Sirius Black, who was hated by his mother but found true family in his friends...
I promise to remember Regulus Black the first person to defy the Dark Lord...
The Effy problem: She needed more help. If from anything we learned; she was traumatized by seeing her brother Tony get run over by a bus then her parents split. She needed her family. Not Freddie or Cook. She broke apart the Three Muskateers. I don't hate her. I love her, but she needed her brother the most. That was the starting point of her mental problems.
That 70's Show:
Steven James Hyde III/Jacqueline 'Jackie' Beulah Burkhart
Eric Albert Forman/Jacqueline 'Jackie' Beulah Burkhart
Fez/Anyone, but Jackie Burkhart.
Michael Kelso/Brooke Rockwell or Angela 'Angie' Barnett.
Reginald 'Red' Albert Forman/Katherine 'Kitty' Forman
Donna Pinciotti/No one(though I can read fics where she is paired with Eric or Randy. But she didn't deserve Eric.)
Kelso/Eric/Hyde for just raunchy smut.
I hate S8.
Problems With Season Eight:
Come on! Really! There is no slow build up between them. It came right out of the blue. At least with Kelso/Jackie, we knew that relationship was a slow build up leading into a relationship in flashbacks in the series. Their relationship was out of the blue and vain.
F/J actually made me vomit. No joke. There was no chemistry to work off of. Fez became Kelso and Wilmer wrapped into one. It's funny because they tried to make the F/J storyline of Fez being there for Jackie, when he abused her just as much as Hyde/Sam/Donna, emotionally/verbally. And he was a puppet. Being called a goddess every other time would get annoying. And he has always been a pervert. And Fez is a douche in the last season.
Also the issue of if Eric had been there in S8:
In fanfiction, Eric staying or coming back sooner works because we keep them in character better than S8 writers! :)
I'm glad Eric and Kelso weren't in it. The writers would have botched up their characters. As we've seen in The Pill, when push comes to shove, Eric lets Jackie know that he is her friend despite always burning her and that he's protective over her. It illustrated again when she has trouble deciding between Kelso and Hyde. So in character Eric would've gotten Hyde's and Donna's head outta their butts and be there for Jackie. I shudder to think what or how the writers who said they hated Jackie, would have Eric, the loyal/compassionate/glue of the group, treat her. He has done it to Kelso and Red when they were having problems accepting that they were going to be dads, though in Kitty's case it was discovered she was menopausal.
I think my pet peeves in fanfic is where Eric comes back and he is on Hyde/Donna's side and treating Jackie like shit. It's like the author is a S8 writer because as I said Eric would never do that if he or Kelso knew what was going on. Nor do I like where he knows what happened to Jackie and how Hyde/Donna changed, yet still immediately gets back with Donna. I don't think he would have gotten back with her if he knew what happened period.
Jackie, in season eight, kind of made sense. I mean she was being bashed on by everyone excluding Eric/Kelso, so she reverted back to her former self that we saw in season one. But, I thought she would have come out stronger and not be a bitch nor materialistic. Her list was just so shallow and narcissistic that she ended up with Fez, who whether people want to believe it or not, is bisexual. And is in love with Kelso...hello, scene where Kelso kissed Fez on accident in the finale?
Real! Red wouldn't have let a stripper stay in his house. I was mad at Kitty as well because she became close to Sam with the make-over? That tore Jackie apart as well, you could tell.
My Donna Pinciotti Rant:
Okay, Donna is by far the worst. I really and truly have a love/hate with her character. Throughout the seasons, a lot of people say she went to become a horrible person when she turned blonde, but she was a horrible person before towards Eric. She gets mad at Eric over the simplest things, and yet ditches Eric over the simplest of things, she left for Cali with Kelso without telling Eric, she said she wanted to be Hot Donna, callously tells Eric that she can't do their date because of something for WFPP. Also, it's okay to be a feminist but it is never okay to have a boyfriend that cowers or always has to watch what he says and then if you get mad has to retract; just like if the roles were reserved. Then there was the thing with Casey Kelso, no matter what, she threw her relationship with Casey in Eric's face...all the time. Then the way she acted like a brat towards Bob in that same episode. She fears she'll become another Midge with her flightyness, but she already is in a way. I mean she ran away to California, yet when Eric wants to go to Africa AND LETS HER KNOW...she throws a bitchfit! At least Eric was helping poverty stricken kids who can't get an education help learn and teach them.
In season eight, to sum her personality...she is a bitch and a horrible person. I would have preferred Laurie to watching Donna and was ticked off that once again Eric most likely(from what the finale alluded) got back together with her.
I am not saying Eric is without faults; but hers outweighs his. But he does have his faults. It's funny though because Eric and Jackie tend to be the ones where everyone heaps their problems onto them and then abuse them in some way.
They definitely should have left a cliffhanger to be open for H/J or E/J. I mean E/J are both traditionalists, compassionate, ambition, love Point Place, and so much more. And I don't have to explaim H/J, watch the show. :D
Donna seems hell bent on making Eric feel bad. When Eric wasn't having fun with Donna with the wedding planning, and then found out; she sends him with Jackie with the intention of him having a bad time. But then she finds he was having fun, she ripped him up about it. And she kissed Fez and Mitch a few times and never got crap for it, what are the writers thinking sometimes? And I always like the way Jackie and Eric looked in the wedding attire, they seemed happy until Donna came along.
Donna does it constantly. I noticed it rarely happened in the earlier seasons and then when Midge left, she went psycho on Eric and Jackie. She keeps defending Hyde too. Once again, in the aftermath of Hyde cheating on Jackie with the nurse, she tells Jackie she thinks it was a misunderstanding. -_- Here I am on the couch thinking 'what about trust?' And she callously cancels a date she had with Eric due to her being Hot Donna one time. She went to see T.N. when she was Hot Donna and leaves Eric by himself. And yeah, the scene where E/J went wedding shopping ticked me off at Donna because she was basically implying that she found Jackie annoying still after all the times the midget has been there for her. One big moment is where Bob offers Jackie to live with him and Donna. Donna goes ballistic and even says, 'Oh crap, when did that happen?'
Eric backed out of the wedding, I think, because he knew he wasn't ready, yet and because he was he realized he and Donna are still messed up. When Hyde married Sam, it was a major insult to Jackie.
ANOTHER BIG DIFFERENCE:
As a canon-shipper I loved H/J being godparents to Betsy, but also as a E/J shipper I thought those two as godparents to Betsy would be more logical since once again they are the ones who wanted kids. Hyde and Donna don't seem the type to want to. When Donna helped Laurie and Laurie asked Donna if she'd like to look after Betsy, Donna said she had plans, yet you could tell she didn't want to. Though if Hyde knocked some girl or Jackie up, he definitely would have stepped up to the plate.
Donna confused the hell out of me, she was a feminist, but still wanted her door opened for her. Donna was demeaning to Eric, and it was hard to watch cause if he stood up for himself she would cut him down. :(
Donna was not a good friend to Jackie when she moved in with her.
What made me sick is when Eric doesn't want to be the rebound after Casey Kelso and everyone calls him a dumbass for finally standing up for himself. She wasn't sorry she hurt Eric; she was upset that rubbing Casey in Eric's face backfired on her.
Also, keep in mind that she tended to always get pissed at Eric over tiny or little things, yet when she was with Casey or Randy, she treated them better than she ever did Eric.
Other Season Eight Problems:
See I love couples that are either best friends that end up together or have a gradual/slow feelings building towards one another. Of course, Steven Hyde and Jackie Burkhart fit into the second category. You knew it was coming since the second season of the show. Yes, they had their flaws and hurt one another, but their relationship was the realistic one out of all the relationships you had-besides Kelso's relationship with Brooke Rockwell. I didn't even see Eric and Donna lasting besides they were so on and off about every little thing there was...and Donna was a bitch to Eric about every little damn thing.
-Hyde's development that we have seen since season 1-7 is destroyed. He is callous and downright verbally abusive to her. He got married to a stripper and stay married to her even though he could have easily talked everything out with Jackie then got an annulment from Sam.
-Fez turns into this pervert from the sweet yet pervy comic foreign kid we knew in season one.
-Kelso is the only one who slightly mans up with Brooke and Betsy(not a bad thing, actually.)
-Red and Kitty let Steven stay married to a stripper. Granted, Kitty hates Sam at first. Let's them stay in basement.
-Jackie letting herself become verbally and emotionally abused by everyone. And not bothering to let her and Hyde talk things out.
Eric/Jackie-Hatred? I say 'Not so.'-
I never thought Eric and Jackie hated one another. If anything Hyde and Eric thought of her as nuisance. I don't think they ever really hated each other, I think they were more like thorns in each others sides. Even though we very rarely got episodes or scenes centered around them, the ones we did get say a lot. Even when Jackie can come off as mean to Eric, her intentions usually come from a good place and Eric is ALWAYS there for Jackie if she needs him. They were friends and they honestly did care about each other. If they didn't, Jackie wouldn't have called Eric before he left for Africa. Eric wouldn't have stood up to Kelso when Jackie thought she was pregnant. Jackie would have let Eric look like a fool when he couldn't afford Donna's engagement ring. Eric would have told Kelso straight away that Jackie kissed the cheese guy if he really hated Jackie. Their relationship is based off of this "hate" towards the other, but it's all an act. All of it.
To all the reviewers who have been asking me to come back to the fanbase. I assure you I am. I just went into a funk because my muse for H/J and E/J and even my little dad/daughter fanfics like That's My Daughterwent haywire and then left my mind in disarray.
Now as to those reviewers whom have asked 'Are you the author of A Handsome Mistake and A Marriage of Convenience and Survival' and 'What happened to your E/J stories?' and so on and so forth. Yes, I am the author. And I am sorry I let a few bad reviews get me down and yes, I will be putting A Marriageof Convenience and Survivalback up, however I am changing a few things about.
The reviewer who did tell me Eric and Jackie were acting a bit too OOC were right. I want to keep them a bit more in character.
In conclusion all I am asking for is patience because I am re-working the story and researching certain things up. But it will be put back up.
