Author has written 10 stories for Avatar. UPDATE: the below was written in 2010 / 2011 - ish. Now, in 2018, I am no longer writing Avatar fanfiction, but I still love Avatar and feel happy whenever I see that people are still finding these fics. :) Sadly, I have to say that my WIP multi-chapter "Last Train Home" is abandoned for the foreseeable future, as well as the stories in the "Not-yet-published" section. Life got busy, and then my muse moved on to other creative pursuits. I'm currently publishing Game of Thrones fan scripts over at , in case that is a fandom you are interested in. Thank you to everyone who ever read, shared, or commented on my fics. These fics were the first time I'd ever done a substantial amount of creative writing, and it was literally life-changing to find that people actually liked it. 3 Thank you, thank you.
I’ve always enjoyed writing, but I never wrote fanfiction until I saw Avatar. Avatar is the only fandom that I’m *actively* participating in at the moment, so that’s all you’ll see on my profile for the time being (though it’s certainly not the sum of my fan interests). My published stories can be categorized into three groups: 1) Deleted scenes, 2) The “Last Train Home” universe, and 3) The “Five seconds too late” universe. To help organize the stories in relation to each other, I’m listing them here in chronological order, not the order in which they were published. You can read them in whatever order interests you, but "You came back" is a good place to start. Enjoy! o.o.o o.o.o o.o.o “Deleted scenes” These fics take place up until the Quaritch fight and subsequent link-trailer scene, near the end of the movie. At that point, the timeline diverges to create two independent continuities - the "Last Train Home" universe (movie canon and beyond) and the "Five seconds too late" universe (alternate ending). You came back (one-shot, long) How do you make up after you've done the unforgivable? Jake and Neytiri have a conversation in the wake of Hometree's destruction, during their first true moment alone following his return as Toruk Makto. Chapter 7b of "Five seconds too late" Continuation of "You came back," told in the form of a flashback in "Five seconds too late." Last kiss (one-shot, short) The great battle for Pandora is about to begin. Minutes before taking to the air, Jake and Neytiri share a fleeting moment of farewell. The “Last Train Home” universe (LTH) These stories are a continuation of the movie “canon,” beginning with events after the link-trailer scene. I consider them all to be part of the same continuity, even though they are mostly stand-alone one-shots. This continuity's flagship fic is still an early work-in-progress but will be novel-length upon completion. Sleepyhead (one-shot, short) Fun, fluffy one-shot. Takes place the morning after they permanently transfer Jake into his avatar body. Say my name (one-shot) In the hard-earned peace following the war, much has changed from the days when Jake and Neytiri were new to each other. Yet, some things will always be the same. Fluffy one-shot. Call it a draw (one-shot) You should never tell Jake what he can't do, however casual the challenge. Neytiri just might learn this the hard way. Fun, fluffy one-shot, featuring a lot of friendly one-upmanship. Rated T for language. The Last Train Home (multi-chapter, long, WIP) Fourteen years after the war, a lone spaceship appears in the sky. The former members of the Avatar program watch its approach – expecting the worst, fearing for their adopted home. Then the ship lands. And suddenly, nothing makes sense anymore. The “Five seconds too late” universe (FSTL) This is an alternate-ending continuity that diverges from canon during the final battle with Quaritch and the subsequent scene in the link trailer. Five seconds too late (multi-chapter, long) This is a different kind of Jake/Neytiri romance, the story that would've unfolded had she been delayed for just five seconds while trying to reach him following the fight with Quaritch. Last thoughts (one-shot) One-shot detailing Jake's thoughts while lying in the link-trailer after the fight with Quaritch. Written in Jake's voice, first-person. Kxamtseng tok (multi-chapter, short) A companion to "Five seconds too late," this is a collection of vignettes depicting Jake's side of the story. Breath of the World (multi-chapter, short, WIP) “New life keeps the energy flowing, like the breath of the world.” - Jake Sully. A new generation comes of age during the peace bought by their parents' sacrifice. Part of the “five seconds too late” continuity. Features Mo'kriya and Jeytalan. o.o.o o.o.o o.o.o In addition to the stories above, here are some fics I am hoping to publish, eventually. Real life keeps me pretty busy, and "Last Train Home" takes up a lot of the time I DO spend writing (it's as long as a novel and pretty research- and backstory-intensive). So I might not have much time for these. However, many of these are partly written, so most of them should see the light of day, even if it takes a while. Also, I'm constantly re-reading and revising my published stuff, so if you revisit my older fics, you might find some of them have been improved. Not-yet-published Doctor Sully (one-shot) It's easy to forget that the scientist and the jarhead share the same genes. Jake inadvertently reminds everyone as the four enjoy some down time after moving into the mobile Link station. A movie "deleted scene." Semper fidelis (one shot) To justify Jake's continued presence, Neytiri is charged with learning more about Sky People warriors. A Far, Far Better Thing (multi-chapter) “You must pass through the Eye of Eywa and return.” What led Jake to attempt something so risky, and why did Neytiri let him? An expanded version of the end-of-movie timeline. |
