UPDATE as of 11/6/2013. Please Read.
This is more of a personal update than anything else. For the last few months my family and I have had to deal with (and still are dealing with) a lot of serious issues. We've had to deal with the deterioration of health, and as of September 25, 2013, death of my grandmother and my mother's mother to lung cancer. It's been far from easy and things are only just starting to look a bit better. My mother still needs my help and I intend to give her as much as I can. Between this and school, I simply haven't had the time to devote to my stories, nor do I feel bad that I haven't.
However, now that the waters have calmed somewhat, I feel comfortable enough to begin updating and posting my stories again. I may still be a bit slow in replies and updating, but iI will do my best, so I hope everyone will be patient with me. I want to thank everyone who has supported me in the past and supports me now, as I need all I can get. I will be getting back to everyone who has messaged me before in the near future (likely this weekend), so I hope no one is too angry with me.
But most importantly, I hope that you'll understand and walk with me through these stories, which impart some of the pain that's come from this, but also happiness, because life is great in that we can continue to live, not only for us, but for those who can't any longer.
Well, I suppose I need to put something substantial here.
Hello! I'm just a little writer here on this site, devoted to a few fandoms, and as such, a few stories. I try my hardest when I can to update, but time doesn't always allow for that. I'm currently in college, working on a BA. For what I'll keep a secret until you get to know me. I love writing and would love to devote my life to it. I also enjoy a spot of gaming, and can be found playing Skyrim more often than not.
I try to be open-minded, and I hope that I can slowly break out of my shell and start to review the stories I enjoy. I know I appreciate seeing reviews, so I'd like to share the feeling. I want to thank everyone and anyone who has supported my stories in some way, and want to let those who favorite, alert, review, and just plain talk to me to know they help push me along. Thank you everyone! You're all so kind and wonderful. :3
As a reviewer, I try to be fair as much as I can. Tell what I think is going right and wrong, and make it a balanced review. Other times I'll see no fault and just gush about the parts I really liked, and sometimes include the quotes of the story I find the most interesting, funny, sad, etc. I try not to sound rude when I review, although it's hard to tell. I get nervous leaving critique as I have no idea how it will be received.
Notice: Review Requests are Being Accepted! People may request a critique if they happen upon my profile and decide that they wouldn't mind hearing what I have to say. I don't know how many people would be interested but it can't hurt to put this out there. I understand all to well how frustrating it can be to post something you worked hard on, getting a ton of favorites and alerts, but barely have a fraction of those readers review. Please be aware that when asking for a review, you are asking for a critique. I will likely have something good and bad to say about the story you're asking for me to read and review. Sometimes I'll have a lot of good. Sometimes, I'll have a lot of bad to mention. Do not ask for a review and complain when you get it.
While I prefer to know the fandom, I can review a story whose premise I am unfamiliar with. You'll likely get more technical tips than comments on characterization though. When asking for a review, I usually take a day or two to respond. All you need to do is shoot me a PM with details and questions of what you're looking for and what story to read. If I get too many request (I don't know how likely that is) I will let you know. I much prefer critiquing one-shots or chapter stories that are not too far along. I'll let you know how long I think it'll take me to leave a review as well.
And again, please remember you are asking for critique.
Here are fandoms I am familiar with. Not all may be listed, so feel free to ask:
TMNT (2003, 2012).
Ouran High School Host Club
Legend of Korra
Avatar the Last Airbender
Thundercats (2011 series only)
Final Fantasy 7, 8, 10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2
Elder Scrolls Series (especially Oblivion and Skyrim)
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Rosario Plus Vampire
(More will come later)
As a writer, I write for both myself and the readers. However, I don't like feeling like I have to finish anything, or feel rushed to do something. Writing fanfiction, while enjoyable, is a hobby. It's something I do a lot, yes, but I devote time to original work as well. And so, I work on what appeals to me the most at the time. I tend to comb through my stories as much as a I can, and to have the idea of how the story is going to go down in my head. I enjoy adding emotion to the stories and hope I do a good job of it.
As a person, I like to try and help out others when I can. I don't like to be outwardly mean, although I do have a few pet peeves that might make me snap a little faster. I'm also rather loyal to those who know me and defend them fiercely. And, as much as I hate to admit it, when I'm having a particularly rough patch in my life, I'm also a bit more likely to snap on people if they've hit on of my don'ts. But it's pretty rare for that to happen, thankfully.
If, for whatever reason, you wish to message me, please feel free! I enjoy speaking with others, and will do my best to reply (in the past I've had a problem with this, but I hope to change that this year). If you want help with anything, even if it's just someone to listen, I'm pretty open! And if you want advice, and feel I could provide some, also feel free to ask! If that's all right. I'd love to help fellow writers too, if they feel I can.
And...I guess a bit more about me... Well, I am a girl, considered a young adult, currently go to college (junior in the coming fall), love scarves, and can be quite the procrastinator. I think that will do for now, but maybe I'll add more. Thank you to those who read this and put up with my rambling! And another thank you to those who read and review my stories. Especially reviews. They make me want to write even more. I truly appreciate it!
