Hello all,

Short Introduction: I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, and have been in this fandom since '07 and lurking in fanfiction.net since '10. I read and write HP fan fiction most of the time, but am branching out now. Favourite characters in HP include Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort/ Tom Riddle. Consequently, my OTP is LV/HP. :D

Over the years, some of you have been asking me if I intend to continue Jewel Amongst Stones.

I've waited for some time before giving any answer, because honestly, for a very long period of time, I wasn't sure. Now, the answer is probably not: 4 years after my last update, I still haven't gotten over my writer's block which began when I first started writing chapter 11. Back then, I had already written the bulk of it, but it didn't come out right. Even after multiple edits, it still wasn't quite the way I had envisioned it. But the longer the days went by, the more distant I felt from my own story and the characters. All these came at a time when most of my favourite LV/HP authors were quitting the fandom, so I started running out of fics to read, and eventually grew distant from HP fanfiction and simply moved on to do other things. Now, though I still re-read some of my favourite HP fics occasionally, I doubt I will have the motivation to continue writing in the near future; just the thought of having to fix my amateurish writing in the first 10 chapters kills any enthusiasm I have.

I know it sucks when the author stops updating the story out of a sudden (& I've been on the receiving end numerous times too :() but I guess an explanation is better than no explanation? At least you guys know I'm alive: I'm somewhere out there doing some unimportant stuff. I haven't forgotten about my fic; I just don't know how to continue writing it.

On a brighter note, if any of you read original slash/ are willing to give it a shot, I highly recommend the Captive Prince trilogy by C.S. Pacat and the In the Company of Shadows series (free!) by Santino and Ais. Just new reading material if anyone is bored and maybe you'll forget about the cliffhanger I ended my story at. Plus, those are completed so there's no agonising wait involved. :)

I'm almost done with Chapter 11, (it's been half a year, I don't know how it happened -- no excuses here) so hopefully I'll finish it soon. Writer's block; I've not been in the mood to write for the longest time... The fiction is not abandoned / discontinued though.

Updating Schedule

As of 120207, I've only got one fanfiction. I'm working on writing at least a couple hundred to a few thousand words everyday, depending on my energy so that I won't fall into a long writer's block. The only exceptions are (a) exams, (b) quizzes, assignments & essays to write and (c) writer's block: let's hope it'll never come down to this.
