Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter, Starship, and Doctor Who.

Hi everyone! Peacful Sunrise here. I didn't discover until a few years ago, while waiting for Inheritance to come out, but I fell in love with it instantly! As of yet, I have eleven stories, not counting the one I am cowriting with Starkidtheatregeek, which can be found on her profile, with more to come as my muse allows.

About Me:

Reading, writing, stories and music are my great passions. Most of the things I like fall under one or more of these categories. My favourite book series ever is Harry Potter, my favourite TV show is Doctor Who, and my favourite movie is Lord of the Rings. I enjoy both classical, modern, instrumental and lyrical music, ranging from composers such as Bach and Kabalevsky to Murray Gold, and all sorts of different music, with a penchant towards musicals. I play both the piano and the trumpet, and am hoping to start voice lessons sometime.

Story Policies

I do not read, write, or like slash, however, I realize there are people out there who do. Please, if you are recommending a certain pairing, or fic, and it is slash, do not be offended if I do not listen, or read the story. It's just something I do not do, but I will respect your opinions on the matter, even if I disagree.

I generally will not use reader suggestions for story plot in my stories. Constructive criticism is welcome, but for anything regarding the plot, I apologize, but unless it is a SYOC story (which I may consider doing in the future), or I have not finished writing it, your suggestions, though welcome, will probably not be used. Please do not be offended.

As all authors are inspired by others, so my stories are usually influenced by others I have read. I will try to make them as different as possible, however, if you think one of my stories is too close to something you have read before, or published, PM me, and I will investigate, and depending on the circumstances, either alter my story, or remove it altogether. I take plagiarism very seriously. The same goes vice versa. I do not mind if you read one of my stories, and use the idea, but please do keep it original. I have seen "authors" publish the exact same, word for word story, of someone else's. If it comes to my attention that my story has been plagiarized by you, or someone else, I will report you.

While I enjoy reading crack fics and humour fics as much as the next person, my favourites are the rare stories that are realistic all the way through. I mean realistic in that there aren't any completely perfect or completely liked characters, any clichéd villains who plot desperate generic schemes and vow bloody revenge on the main character by harming those he loves, characters who know everything right away, exactly what's going to happen and can come up with a stunning plan to defeat the enemy, or clichéd characters, such as the all powerful, wise, generous, clever, merciful hero who's also really lonely and compensates for this by gathering about fifty other characters around him as his "close friends" or the kindly, gentle, trustworthy figure who's always there to selflessly listen to everyone's problems, etc. I like to see actual realistic reactions to realistic circumstances, characters who don't act all OOC (unless the reason why is explained in a logical explanation that makes sense and could be believable), real and honest feelings instead of the "I love you all, even though I've never spoken 10 words to some of you, but my best friend's sister's gardener's aunt's grandpa sends you a Christmas card each year" or the "Because you talked with so and so who's a friend of so and so, who's so and so's cousin, five times removed, and that person once sold my mortal enemy a pair of slippers, for five minutes last Wednesday, you deserve all of my hate and loathing and revenge". Whew, got confused just typing that. Point is, I like some gritty realism in stories. Maybe the main character doesn't get quite a happy ending. Maybe he doesn't end up with the person he likes. Maybe he has to really struggle and fight for everything. Maybe not all is right in the world. But that's ok. Because real life isn't always a fairy tale. I try to use a realistic take in general when writing my stories, exceptions being crack fics and older stories. Yes, this means my stories WILL be darker, and probably not have as much of a happy ending as others. But I try to keep things as realistic as possible, and that's the price to be paid.

I tend to have a few favourite characters in each fandom (like most people), and in my stories, I naturally put them into greater prominence whenever possible. For example, in the Doctor Who stories I'm planning out, Ten, Sarah Jane, and Donna have larger roles than the other characters. When the fic is centered around them, that's not a problem, but sometimes, in fics where they're not the main character, I may struggle to keep their role smaller and more appropriate. If this happens, and you notice that one character in particular is getting more attention than is appropriate for the story, feel free to tell me, and I will see if I can fix it. As I said above, I do want to keep stuff as realistic as possible, even if it means my favourite characters have less of a role.

Some Common Words That Are Helpful When Trying To Read FanFiction (for those of us not yet fluent in FanFictionese)

1. Canon- From the book, of the book, completely in line with the facts stated in the book. Often pairings. (Example: Ron/Hermione)
2. Non-canon- When it is not from the book. (Example: Draco/Hermione) (My own note: Sorry, can't help it, must point out. Starkid? Granger Danger?)
3. Slash- Guy with guy stories. (Example: Draco/Harry)
4. Femslash- Girl with girl stories. (Example: Hermione/Ginny)
5. Smut- M stuff, particularly what so tastefully refers to as 'Adult themes'.
6. Lemon- Really M stuff. Even worse than smut.
7. Flames- Mean reviews. When you trash a fic.
8. OC- Original Character. When you make up your own character, i.e. not a canon character.
9. OOC- Out Of Character- When a canon character is not accurate. (Example: When Draco runs around singing "Nobody's Perfect" and hands out unicorn stickers to first graders.) (Although if it's Lauren Lopez playing Draco, then this is a very real possibility)
10. AU- Alternate Universe- When the story is set in a different universe than that the author has created. (Or where Rose is)
11. Fluff- Sweet romantic moments. No action/adventure or anything.
12. OTP- One True Pairing. This means that it's the one pairing you enjoy and stand by.
13. Ship- A pairing/couple. Comes from relationship.
14. One-shot; Two-shot; Three-shot- One chapter, two chapters, three chapters. One-shot is the most common of these.
15. Songfic- A fic including, or based upon, a song.
16. Mary Sue- A character (usually OC) that is favored by the author and pretty much perfect (and thus completely unbelievable) in every way. The sort of character that gets on your nerves by their very existence. Closely realted to this is a...
17. Gary Stu- the less common male counterpart of a Mary Sue. Has all the same characteristics, but is male.
18. A/N- (Or A.N. or AN or any other variation on this theme.) Author's Note. Self-explanatory.
19. AH- All Human. All characters are human. This is not commonly seen. (Especially not in Doctor Who...)
20. POV- Point of View.
21. R&R- Read and review!
22. Lime- Like Lemon, but not as bad.
23. Drabble- A fic that is from 50-500 words in length. Technically a fic that is under 100 words but that is quite rare.

Great Quotes

It's like in the great stories, The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. The fact that there is some good in this world, and its worth fighting for. Sam Gamgee

Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book. Author Unknown

"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future." -- Galadriel, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

"All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to us." Gandalf, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

"Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. I have not much hope that Gollum can be cured before he dies, but there is a chance of it. And he is bound up with the fate of the Ring. My heart tells me that he has some part to play yet, for good or ill, before the end; and when that comes, the pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many - yours not least."- Gandalf (FOTR)

"This may surprise people but it is the truth, in many many ways Hufflepuff is my favourite house. There comes a point in the final book where each house has the choice whether or not to rise to a certain challenge, the Slytherins for reasons understandable decide they’d rather not play. The Ravenclaws - some do, some decide they won’t. The Hufflepuffs, virtually to a person, decide to stay. As too do the Gryffindors. Now the Gryffindors comprise a lot of fool-hardy and show-offy people, that’s just the way it is - I’m a Gryffindor I’m allowed to say that. You know there’s bravery and there’s also show-boating, sometimes the two go together. The Hufflepuffs stayed for a different reason - they weren’t trying to show off, they weren’t being reckless, that’s the essence of Hufflepuff house.

Now my eldest child, my daughter Jessica said something very profound to me not very many days ago, she said to me - and she by the way was not sorted into Hufflepuff house - she said to me, “I think we should all want to be Hufflepuffs.” I can only say to you that I would not be at all disappointed to be sorted into Hufflepuff house so I’m a little upset anyone does feel that way." - JK Rowling

“I would say if you wanna be a performer or something, and you really believe that you wanna do it, it’s best to sort of go all in. Because if I didn’t have that crushing terrible feeling of not having any sort of back-up plan motivating me to really make this career as an actor or writer work… There are times where you wanna give up for sure. The odds are so stacked against you that you’re like, it would just be easier to give up. But when you’re ill-prepared for everything else in life, you just try to work harder to make the main track work. So, don’t have a back-up plan, that’s my advice.” - Brian Holden

Those people who can be gracious, even while disappointed: those are true StarKids.” - Melissa Anelli

“I still am a geek. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I see no shame in having an unhealthy obsession with something.” - David Tennant

“Oh no, David DEFINITELY isn’t a vegetarian. For such a skinny man, David will literally eat anything. If you ever want to find David Tennant he’s probably by the food table.” -Catherine Tate

And how do we get out?
The Doctor: [still smiling, looks around and then nods] Ah. [keeps smiling]
Doctor Who, World War Three

The Doctor: Rose... before I go, I just want to tell you: you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? [Pause] So was I![The TARDIS lights up with energy as the Doctor regenerates into his tenth incarnation.]

Doctor Who, The Parting of Ways

Cassandra-in-Doctor: Ooh, my. Well this is... different.
Rose: Cassandra?
Cassandra-in-Doctor: Goodness me, I'm a man! Yum! So many parts... and hardly used. [clutches the Doctor's chest] Oh, two hearts! [dancing to the dual heartbeat] Oh baby, I'm beating out a samba!
Rose: Get out of him!
Cassandra-in-Doctor: Oh, he's slim. [turn to Rose] And a little bit foxy! [raises eyebrows] You thought so, too. I've been inside your head, you've been like it.
Doctor Who, New Earth

The Doctor: [about Rose] I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demigods and would-be gods; out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing...just one thing...I believe in her.
Doctor Who, The Satan Pit

Rose: I...I love you.
The Doctor:
Quite right, too. [Pause] And I suppose, if it's my last chance to say it: Rose Tyler...

Shakespeare [on the stage as the Carrionites are materializing, to save the world he is improvising a speech to send them back.]: Close up this din of hateful dire decay. Decomposition of your witches plot. You thieve my brains, consider me your toy — my doted Doctor tells me I am not!
Lilith: Ngaa! Words of power.
Foul Carrionites festers, cease your show! Between the points [looks over at the Doctor questionally]
The Doctor:
Seven-six-one-three-nine-oh (761390)!
Seven-six-one-three-nine-oh! Banish thy, antiqueascas, I sing to thee—[looks back at the Doctor questionally.]

Doctor Who, The End of Time Part 2

Atraxi: You are not of this world.
The Doctor: No, but I've put a lot of work into it. [looking at different ties he might wear] Hm, I dunno...what do you think?
Is this world important?
The Doctor:
"Important?" What's that mean, "important?" Six billion people live here; is that important? And here's a better question: is this world a threat to the Atraxi? [pause] Well, come on, you're monitoring the whole planet. Is this world a threat?
[The eye scans through images of the human race.]
The Doctor:
Are the peoples of this world guilty of any crime by the laws of the Atraxi?
Atraxi: [scanning through more images]
The Doctor:
Okay! One more, just one. Is this world protected?
[The Atraxi scans through pictures of Cybermen, Daleks, Racnoss, Sea Devils, Slitheen, etc.]
The Doctor:
But you're not the first lot to have come here. Oh, there have been so many. And what you've got to ask is...what happened to them?
[The Atraxi shows pictures of the previous incarnations of the Doctor, finishing with an image of the Tenth Doctor that the Eleventh Doctor then steps through.]
The Doctor:
Hello. I'm the Doctor.
Doctor Who, The Eleventh Hour

[in the midst of the battle at Hogwarts]
Harry Potter: Ginny! Neville! Are you alright?
Neville Longbottom: Never better! I feel like I can spit fire! You haven't seen Luna, have you?
Harry Potter: Luna?
Neville Longbottom: I'm mad for her! I think it's about time I told her, since we'll probably be both be dead by dawn!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Remus Lupin: It is the quality of one’s convictions that determines success, not the number of followers.
Kingsley Shacklebolt: Who said that?
Remus Lupin: Me.

Parents spend the first part of our lives teaching us how to walk and talk, the rest of our lives they tell us to just sit down and shut up

It's you and me against the world - we attack at dawn.

May the Force be with you.

You studied with Hermione. You stumbled with Ron. You hid creatures with Hagrid. You laughed with Fred and George. You fought with Voldemort. You forgot with Neville. You got caught with the DA. You rebelled against Umbridge and Snape. You cheered on Gryffindor. You kept up the rivalry with Draco Malfoy and the Slytherins. You worked with Dumbledore. You stuck with Harry til the end. Now it’s nearly over, and now all you can do is remember, and thank J.K. Rowling for the time of your life.

In Remembrance of Severus Snape
A Slytherin who died like a Gryffindor
without all the red and gold crap
In Remeberance of Lily Potter
Who died to protect her son
she made the ulimate sacrifice
to make the world a safer place
she'll always remain in our hearts
In Remembrance of Fred Weasley
Who fought bravely to the very end
And whose jokes will forever brighten his other half
And will loyally await his soul mate and brother
with many jokes, he's got forever to think of them, right
In Remenberance of Cedric Diggory
Who died before his time
and will be remembered for his bravery
In Rememberance of Sirius Black
The black sheep in his family
he died laughing at the hands of his cousin
he didn't deserve to spend the last fourteen years of his life
the way he did in Azkaban and on the run
In Remembrance of Dobby
Who was more free and full of love
than any elf, and most humans
In Remembrance to Remus J. Lupin
the last real Marauderer
who was not just a wonderful father
a incredible husband and brave hero
as well as a freaking awesome werewolf
In Remembrance to Nymphadora Tonks
who died for ‘the greater good’
and would probably hex me for calling her Nymphadora
In Remembrance of Alastor ‘Mad-Eye’ Moody
who’s motto ‘constant vigilance’ kept him alive
and scared the crap out of some kids too
In Remembrance of Tom Marvelo Riddle a.k.a. Voldemort
who was pretty cool, and cute when he was younger
but who got his ass thoroughly kicked in the end
In Remembrance of Albus Dumbledore
whose past and wisdom confused us
whose seeming betrayal shocked us
but actually who turned out to be an okay guy in the end
despite the whole 'almost killing Harry' thing
In Remembrance to Bellatrix Lestrange
because it’s was awesome how Molly slapped her with that Avada Kedavra
She deserved everything she got and more
In Remembrance of Colin Creevey
who we really didn’t know too well
but took a lot of pictures and died fighting in a war
so he must’ve done something good
besides stalking Harry
In Remembrance of Hedwig
Harry actual first friend
who lived and died SOARING
