IMPORTANT: I don't post my stories anywhere not linked to from this page. If you see my fics re-posted or distributed anywhere without my permission, please don't hesitate to report the offender and/or contact me.
My name is Susannah, though I went by Lily F. Lux for several years in fanfic spheres. Ambitious like Hermione Granger, a daydreamer like Anne Shirley and a compulsive keeper of notebooks like Harriet M. Welsch. Been writing fanfic since 2011 and original fics for even longer. Willing to step outside my comfort zone to a certain extent. Practised procrastinator (try saying that five times fast) and lover of crispy prawn chilli. My current pen name is a reminder to stay humble ("but the truth is that your illusions of grandeur are just delusional musings at best"). If you can tell me where that line is from (without looking it up!), you are awesome.
My favourite Harry Potter fic of all time is Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills by Jocelyn and her mum.
I also have a tumblr (susannahwithanh.tumblr.com/).
I present ... a very rough guide to some of my stories!
The one I started writing before I knew fanfiction was a thing: Harry Potter and the Time-Turner
8/2014: I, Delusional Musings, have challenged myself! I'm proud to be a part of the HPFC forum. Here is an index of my participation (www.evernote.com/shard/s510/sh/5227a65c-7b8a-4cbe-bcb4-15247e432565/431555cfe5598e98b1f20c64ed197ce1) – as much for my own benefit as yours!
2/2015: Night-of-love has kindly finished translated the entirety of Harry Potter and the Time-Turner into French! Here it is: Harry Potter et le retourneur de temps.
4/2015: I wrote a femslash one-shot called 'Purely Educational' (archiveofourown.org/works/3806518), about Hermione Granger and Padma Patil. It's too explicit for this website, so I've uploaded it exclusively to Archive of Our Own. You will need to be logged into an AO3 account to read it, however.
5/2015: Are you an Anne of Green Gables fan? Come join me over at The Story Club, an all-about-Anne (of Green Gables) forum, where you can hold discussions, run challenges, play games, join competitions and much more.
5/2015: I've turned 'There By My Side' into the first part of a collection of unrelated mini one-shots, or short shorts – that is, stories under 1000 words (I hesitate to call them 'drabbles' because I prefer to use that term for stories exactly 100 words long) called All the Small Stories from Hogwarts and Beyond. Here's a rundown of the contents so far:
I am a slow writer! (Seriously, though, how do some people churn out 100,000 words in a year? It took me nearly three years to get that far!) I like to muse over an idea, maybe for weeks, before I start writing properly. However, if I'm writing for a challenge with a strict deadline, I can do that in time, no problem. In turn, I'm notoriously terrible at updating multi-chapter stories (sorry). One MC has been going for a few years (and isn't yet halfway through ... oops), and another was in the works for several years before I decided to upload it.
I do, nevertheless, have an excellent memory, and never forget a challenge, or which stories I'm supposed to review. It may take me a while to get around to doing things, but I do end up doing them!
I have nothing against slash or femslash as genres – I'm just not particularly fond of either. I'll read both slash and femslash for challenges, and write femslash in a pinch, but neither are my cup of tea.
Lastly, it is important to remember that just because I write a story in which two characters are together or want to be together, doesn't mean that I want them to be together. I don't really 'ship' characters as such; instead, I use fanfiction as a way to explore different possibilities. I have written Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Luna, Hermione/Padma and Lavender/Ginny, to name a few, and certainly don't think they're all reasonable or 'right'!
So, if you hate me for writing a ship you don't sail ... chances are that I don't sail it either.
(Well, you are allowed be disgusted if I appear to ship Harry/Hermione. I would be disgusted at me too.)
